“Best defensive first baseman” doesn’t mean shite. The run production from Jones is way more valuable then the maybe 1 out Morgan would save

How is that working out?
It allows us to keep a freshman all American with as much power as anyone in the country, as well as a .300 hitter with 8 HR, both in the lineup.
That has resulted in LSU having the #1 offense in the country; winning every series, never losing consecutive games, and remaining the #1 team in the country since the season began.
