These guys were not recruited at all coming out of high school - wish LSU could either find these kids across America or implement the type of offense that Baylor and Washington state run. Minshew leads the ncaa in yards per game. Mike leach is a beast

Myles Brennan was supposed to be in that mold, maybe he still is?

Please list Leach’a accomplishments. I won’t wait because I already know he doesn’t have any.

Other than being better than he was at OM, he doesn’t have any. But you see, I’m not the one shilling for a mediocre coach who’s never won anything here. That would be you.

Prolific offenses.

Something we couldn't remotely imagine.

The other day I was looking at the all time highest rated recruits on 247, and if you look at the QB list it's a pretty underwhelming list overall. There were a ton of busts relative to other positions like RB.

QB development is crucial, I dare say more important than the level of recruit you get from high school. I think in the college game you get further with a 3* guy getting elite development than you do with a 5* guy with shite development.

Leach has had success at Texas tech and Washington state. Put Orgeron at either of those places and I guarantee you Washington state isn’t ranked 13. I would take Leach over Orgeron.

But that wasn’t my intent. I was rather pointing out the quality of quarterbacks that lesser schools with lesser resources and no winning traditions - keep getting these quality QB’s.

LSU either can’t evaluate high school QB’s. Can’t develop them when they get to LSU. Don’t implement a pass first spread offense that is today’s standard... or a combination of all of it

That would require LSU to actually develop the recruit and scheme based on his skill level. LSU has shown for years its complete inability in doing this. Brennan appeared to be a good candidate for this at first, but now not so much. It would be nice, though.

Compare Texas tech before he got there to after he left. Now look at at Washington state before he got there compared to what they are now.

Kindly stfu

You do realize that Mike Price went to the Rose Bowl twice at Wazzou, right? The same Mike Price who never coached a down before getting fired at a Bama and couldn’t win at UTEP.

Exactly. Leach is a HC that doesn't require a great coordinator on both sides of the ball. It's good to have the top coordinators, but it's best to not have to depend on it. He can run the offense if necessary. Not unlike Saban or Smart on defense.

Go frick yourself. Read above. Other coaches have won bigger than he has at WSU before. I didn’t say Leach sucked. I said he is mediocre, because that what his record is. A coach who’s been in the game this long and can’t win a conference title is the definition of mediocre.

I will never understand the obsession with the pirate of college football.

Leach is heads and tails above Orgeron. Much smarter coach.
