My God the players we lost since January.

It’s a miracle we went 5-5.

It is hard I suppose for some to understand the whole darn team starters and subs are starting in the NFL or darn close to it.

Everyone remembers the offense.

But, Chaisson, Lawrence, Queen, Divinity, Delpit, etc.

Different dudes than what we lined up this year.

The Hiring of Bo Pelini will go down in LSU history as the second worst hire since curley hallman. TO pay a guy that kind of money when he hadnt coached a defense in like over 10 years and never against the spread. To top it off no one wanted him. could have paid him 1 million per and he would have taken it I think woodard is to blame more than O on this hire.

I’ve watched a few times on YouTube since this season started.

It’s crazy watching that team and then our current team the last two weeks.

They are literally completely different teams personnel wise. Every player you see practically is gone now.

2018 to 2019 LSU was basically the same core team.

2019 and 2020 are just completely different.

Even if your premise is correct, which I doubt....why couldn’t O fix the schematic deficiency in Pelini’s D? Did he not see as a problem? We know he didn’t in fall camp when it was labeled light years ahead of 2019.

If we struggle next year, will it be Mason’s fault as well?

Yep. We lost:

Lawrence, Shelvin, Chaisson, Ika, Phillips, Queen, Delpit, Fulton, Vincent, and Divinity just off the top of my head.

Stevens and Stingley are the only starters that came back and stayed the whole season.

Our offense actually wasn't that bad this season. If the defense would have been even halfway decent, we win two or three more games (Bama and Auburn games we were crushed).

PLEASE STOP THE SPINNING.
“ Orgeron said during LSU's spring coaching clinic that Pelini was the only coach he talked to about the job. He'd consulted their shared mentor, Pete Carroll, who told Orgeron that Pelini "has the best defensive mind of any coach I've ever coached with."

What do you think you were going to pay this guy with a HC that ONLY INTERVIEWED 1 candidate? Or the fact that that the 1 candidate still made 2MM the year before and likely could have just stayed “retired” or where he was and been happy?

What ks the going rate for DC AT THE REIGNING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS WHO JUST PAID THE PREVIOUS GUY 2.3 MM and was the highest paid COORDINATOR IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL?

Jesus Christ.

Want more proof that it wasn’t all Bo???

“ Orgeron said during the preseason "we are so much better on defense right now than any part of the season last year," a quote that led to further public scrutiny once things turned awry.”.

How about asking your dumbass self why Corey Raymond’s backs were always OUT OF frickING POSITION DIPSHIT?
“ Pelini's scheme was indeed more volatile, ranking second nationally with 22 total turnovers forced while ranking in the Top 50 in tackles for loss (63, 33rd) and sacks (24, 32nd).”

I believe with Ron Cooper and a healthy backend this defense could have worked as soon as the LB depth was improved. There simply weren’t the players.

With that, the Optics were bad and Orgeron felt the pressure. You can’t make gold out of turds that were left from last season.

Corey Raymond Is the weak link. Ron Cooper would have had that defense humming. Firing Raymond would have massive implications and O knows that. Hiring him for DC would be equivalent to Hiring Johnny Jones for HC of LSU basketball. Oh wait...

You seem Angry that a guy that sucked all year in making adjustments during game and coached a LB'ing group that didnt improve very much throughout the year should be retained. So what do you sugguest Moron? give Bo another year? Alot of teams were down players this year but a team with 4 and 5 star talent on defense should not be close to last in the nation in defense and still be lost in the last game of season.

Does this mean you think it was a mistake/unfair to fire and/or reassign so many coaches? Not being a wiseass, just curious.

Not at all. I’m refuting the fact that the salary was disproportionate to the job and the defense was hampered by the opt outs and losses. Did I want to keep Bo? Absolutely not. But what I can’t stand is when a guy does pretty much what his HC expects and dumbass cock riders come on here to spin it and place all the blame on the DC when the HC is where it all lies.
Look at it this way, if the LBs didn’t improve explain UF, TAMU and Ole Miss because I thought they played very well considering how shitty the backend was in all those games except TAMU.

Ask yourself WHY LSU HAD ZERO PASS RUSH IN 2019? What changed? It certainly wasn’t the HC doing anything because we saw the same shite in 2018.
Corey Raymond is the weak link ans makes WAY too much money to continue to just keep his players in man because that is how they played in high school. What EXACTLY is he teaching.

Raymond didn’t coach the safeties. They were the weak link. Safety play was putrid.

Exactly what I have been saying. Cory Raymond is the most overrated coach on staff. He is supposed to be a great recruiter. Hom many recruits did he have this year?
People gripe about the defense against the Air rais because we were not in Zone. Hell, I don't think our players were capable of playing zone since they were not coached to play it. I keep referencing former defensive captain Brandon Taylor who breaks it down exactly. The DBs do not communicate? who coaches the DB? You cannot put everything on Bush and give Raymond a pass.

Bama lost about the same in the draft yet managed to be the #1 team in the country.

The overall responsibility for the DBs was Raymond. Why did we even need a asafeties coach? Maybe Raymond is incapable of even coaching them all. How the hell is he even qualified to be a DC?

What the hell ks wrong with people on here? Don’t you all see past the recruiting? Wi TJ out Bausch, Burrow does not come ie no 2019.

Raymond is weak.

Cooper didn’t need all that help did he? What about Saban? He coached the DBs ans was HC? Why can’t Orgeron even coach the DLine and be the HC? Or how about recruit, coach DBs, DC and win all those freaking NCs?
People compare coaches and think we are comparable to Bama. It isn’t in the same stratosphere and yet we pay more because we are crippled by Orgeron, Raymond and crew.

I get a good laugh when TV commentators refer to us as "the defending national champs". At face value, that is true.

In reality, we are a brand new start-up team.

Ding ding ding.
What would this fanbase do if it had 54 players and got the same results? If you say fire Orgeron, then why did you fire Pelini for 5 mm?

It’s amazing what the Facebook-moms-of-Louisiana can do to keep miles for an extra year while ditching a DC for 5mm with 29 players to work with.
