Wade is the right LSU basketball coach for this year
Wade has strong recruiting and organizational skills. I cannot think of any coach who can better manage any COVID chaos that shows up this year.

Also, his players stay out of trouble (particularly domestic abuse/sexual misconduct issues). This is no small feat considering that most of the players only stay a year or two.

The "strong as offer" stuff is what it is, but having players that stay out of trouble is a huge factor this year with the protests and uproar that is going on with the football program.

I do wish the loudmouth segment of his fan base would quit referring to him as "gangster." It is a look that LSU doesn't need this year.

Compare Coach K's record, first three years as Duke, vs Wade's first three years at LSU.

I can’t dislike any man that wants to win. You’re naive if you believe wade is the only coach making “strong arse offers”. Wade is doing something special here.

The basketball fans around here see the game you are playing, troll.

I guess all your ranting and taking shots at Wade the past 3 years wasn't working; so now you've taken to reverse psychology jinx. Won't work and Johnny isn't coming back. Keep talking against Wade b/c it has worked well up to this point to have him prove you wrong.

You have some weird obsession with fans talking "big" or "loud" about Wade. It is your go to argument every single time, except you generally and stupidly put the fault on Wade somehow.

But as I and others have already explained to you that the "gangster" reference did not originate here or with LSU fans, period. Nor did it even originate after the FBI stuff. It began with Jon Rothstein, who started using it Wade's first year here (and maybe even before he got here) and is one of the bigger voices in the sport and obviously good friends and a supporter of Wade.

LSU fans have just adopted it some not only b/c of Rothstein but b/c it is the word that Dawkins used in reference to Wade during one of his convo's with another coach. Fans have taken an us against the world mentality in defending Wade, and I for one like it. The NCAA and the media have done their best to bash and demonize Wade and LSU every chance they get; so it has galvanized most of the fan base into a "protect our guy" attitude.

What was the name of the player, from Louisiana, in Wade's first year who was in trouble, suspended, and then dropped from the team?
That is how it matters.
Too bad Miles didn't handle Guice in that fashion. Would have saved the University some embarrassment.

Go root for Texas Southern. Wade doesn’t need your support.

For anyone reading this trash, go look at his post history. Some great takes about Wade vs. Johnny Jones.

Brandon Rachal maybe? He’s been a very productive player at Tulsa since leaving LSU

Color me anyway you want but I am reserving my opinion on Wade pending what does come out his hearing before the arbitration committee. But I don't buy the excuse "everyone else does it". I remember what Jackie Sherrill did to Moo State's reputation, Billy Brewer to the Black Bear's. I do not want that to be LSU's. Especially if Verge Ausberry is in any way complicit in any Title IX / NCAA violations tied to football. The fact that he is that strongly tied to La. politics scares me to death.

You may not buy the “everyone else does it” excuse but it’s a reality. Basketball recruiting is dirtier than football with AAU handlers and that a top player could change the trajectory of your program.

Wade’s infamous words were “strong arse offer” to a top 40 4 star recruit Javonte Smart. There’s a reason he needs to put together an offer for him. Imagine what the consensus 5 star players are getting to go to Duke, Kansas, Kentucky.

They are adults, but if they know the coach doesn't tolerate misconduct, the program is likely to avoid having issues (like the football team is having right now).

" One strong arse offer" can't be all the NCAA has against LSU. That's like believing EWE only stole once & got caught that one time. That's why I want to see what the committee presents / proves before giving Wade a complete pass.

It's not. It has been well documented that the NCAA has several "allegations" against LSU (I put allegations in quotations b/c LSU has never received a formal NOA); most recently saying that as many as 7 different players were offered or received improper benefits.

The key is what do they have to prove those allegations; as we have yet to see or hear ANYTHING outside of his "strong arse offer" statement on the wiretap or the hearsay statements of other people.

Even the least rational of person or LSU fan knows that Wade likely did something; but I, like many others, have continued to say, "prove it." If he did all these bad things, surely there is some piece of proof they can find outside of innuendo and conjecture; b/c that is all they have at this point to public knowledge.

Yeah, that's the guy.

He was a good player and was proving it on the court.
I was disappointed it didn't work out. It appears it was a good divorce for for him as well as LSU.

What's the current legal situation with Wade? Has anything been dropped yet?

Not a legal situation, just an NCAA potential rules violation case. Wade or LSU isn't charged with a crime; although the way the media and some on here act, you'd think he was.

The case was referred to the new Independent Resolution Panel a couple of months ago. It's a convoluted process that came out of the Rice commission done in response to the FBI CBB scandal investigation.

Not much is known or understood about the new process as no team has gone all the way through it yet to see what results and all will be like. Memphis was first referred back in the spring and thoughts are that theirs should conclude sometime in the next few months.

What is known is that the panel is made up of non-NCAA people, mostly legal professionals (lawyers, judges, etc.) that will review the info. obtained by the NCAA through investigation along with what the NCAA believes the team violated in rules. The panel can hear arguments and contradictory "evidence" from the school to assist in its decision. Once they make a decision, the panel issues their ruling and punishment to the NCAA. The school does not have an opportunity for appeal.

LSU's case is likely to last another year before reaching resolution.
