Has there been recent news on this? Doing a quick Google search, I saw nothing since the hire of Wade.
I just have even more interest now, considering I am moving back to the Richmond area.

I think there is a 3 year (or so) window to schedule it. Or LSU could just pay the buyout. Obviously they aren't doing it this season with both teams participating in the Maui Invitational.

Yeah, that's all I knew. I really hope they don't pay the buyout. Want to go to both games.

I really hope they don't buyout this home and home. I would love to be able to go see lsu at the Siegel center.

So would I. Though it would be weird rooting against VCU. And it wouldn't be the first time LSU gear has been worn there.
If it happens, would love to meet up with other Tigers prior to the game.

WHY would you back to Richmond? I live here and pretty much hate it.

Why do you hate Richmond? Serious question. Richmond is an objectively awesome city. Do you live in short pump or something?

I live here too, love it. You must live in Short Pump.

I live in Chester. Richmond has the same population as New Orleans, yet they barely support a AA baseball team and are about to lose them. In other words, this area sucks when it comes to sports and their fans. There nothing to really do here relative to the population. Taxes are high and the restaurants leave little to be desired. Oh yeah being a suburb of Washington D.C. doesnt help either.
The only people I have met in my decade living up here that like it are natives and hipsters and my wife is a native, hence why I am here. She will not move.

Maybe its you. Perhaps people in metro Richmond simply don't care for you.

They probably dont care for me, because I am actually from the south, can cook food with flavor, and actually love football, especially college football! You would not know that football existed in Richmond other than the 2 weeks of Redskins training camp. College football? They are like what is that?

VCU is the largest public university in Virginia and they do not have a football program! What does that say about Richmond? Hell VCU does not have a baseball stadium either. SMDH!

I never wanted to move back, but am moving back for family reasons.
Some things are more important than my dislike for an area. Luckily I still have many great friends there.

I would definitely disagree with this.
Though you were pretty close on the only people that like RVA.

Well, Chester sucks, so that checks out. I imagine the food out there does as well. Not a problem when you come into the city, and I'm no foodie, but even I know this. Tons of great places to eat, and affordable.
The squirrels have the highest attendance in the eastern league and nearly twice that of anyone in the carolina league, you must be drunk. The only reason they might leave is because they're trying to leverage for a new park (which I'd love it if they'd build) but its a bluff. They aren't going anywhere but if they did we'd have a line of suitors out the door in a heartbeat.
It's also not at all a suburb of DC, having lived in one (alexandria) for a long time I can tell you the two are quite different. And the population of New Orleans? What!??!
In short, nobody doubts Chester sucks, but that's not living in Richmond.

I have heard that food has gotten a lot better in the 8n half years since I left. My friend who moved back over winter says Latitudes on Midlothian, has solid seafood.
I'm sure BBQ is still awful.

I always thought they should of built out by 60 and 288(no longer an option I assume), or West End, near 288. Didn't like the option of the old Cloverleaf Mall.

I hear the beer scene in RVA is improving, too. I'm a LA expat living in the DC area and I'm always pleasantly surprised the few times I've been able to get there. Now if they could just do something about I-95 traffic...
Posted on 9/14/17 at 2:21 pm to FtHuntTiger
I have heard the same about the craft beer scene, but I don't really like craft beer(don't drink much beer anyways).
Keep dreaming. I call it Die 95 for a reason.

There was a big push to put in shockoe from the previous mayor but he lost all his sway and that fell apart. I actually think the location is great, its just old. There's talk of redeveloping (including the diamond) the whole Blvd and it is happening slowly.
The beer scene in RVA is outstanding, best beer in the state and better collectively than anything you can get in DC or MD. Asheville, NC is the nearest beer superhub that could give RVA a run for its money.
The fan favorite for BBQ is Buzz & Neds, which I think is pretty damn good. I don't pretend to be a bbq connoisseur but I know what the good taste like, and that's it. And yes, Latitudes is awesome.
Probably nothing will ever really improve in terms of 95. But after living in the crazy traffic of DC and the shitroads everywhere in NOLA, I'll take RVA traffic/roads all day.

Chester sucks? Not if you have kids, like I do. Chesterfield schools are great and there is no common core. Why would anyone live in Richmond with kids as bad as their schools are and what about the crime rate? NOLa metro and Richmond metro have the same population! You think I dont travel to Richmond for food? I have yet to eat at a local restaurant that is worthy of my Louisiana taste buds! WHY doesnt thhe City of Richmond build a stadium for the squirrels? The city of Richmond is crime infested shithole!
