I wonder if O has the Miles clause in his contract.

Lol at TAMU and Michigan.

quote:

Purdue - Jeff Brohm - $6,600,000

WTF. Who was the shrewd businessman at Purdue who negotiated that one? and it looks like they literally doubled his salary after going 7-6 and then 6-7.

Man, Woody fed aTm a bag of dicks with that Jimbo hire/contract/buyout! As someone who publicly screamed and hollered opposing the "Jimbo to LSU" movement for two seasons I'd love to think this was all part of his master plan...Save LSU from this terrible hire by making it at aTm, all the while knowing that by "winning" the Jimbo race he would get Alleva fired opening up his dream job at LSU! That's the way I will choose to view this situation and nothing will change my mind!

He made a decision to take less so he could pay his assistants. Smart move. Salary is nothing compared to how much he can eat for free and never pay for a car or a house again in the State if Louisiana if he beats Bama and brings home the trophy.

It’s crazy that LSU made Saban the first million dollar a year HC. Curley Hallman had a yearly salary of 90k. Man how times of changed.

1 Clemson Dabo Swinney $9,315,600
2 Alabama Nick Saban $8,857,000
3 Michigan Jim Harbaugh $7,504,000
4 Texas A&M Jimbo Fisher $7,500,000
5 Georgia Kirby Smart $6,871,600
6 Auburn Gus Malzahn $6,827,589

8 Purdue Jeff Brohm $6,600,000

looks like a lot of the top 10 are not worth the money they are being paid when you look at their records

Orgeron is 30th.

Whatever else you can say about him, he just badly wants to coach and the money (to this point) has been a secondary concern - compared to *ahem* "other" head coaches who have salary as their most pressing concern at all times.

That should change with a SEC Championship appearance and/or playoff appearance. I would think even 11 wins this year warrants an extension and a bump. Not counting chickens (because we have had late season collapses over the past decade, notably the last time we were 7-0, 2015), of course, but 11 wins would be almost coasting at this point, considering - we would only have to go 4-2.

aTm has money to burn and they spend like it. When aTm is looking for a coach agents know they can always count on aTm to up the bid because they are cash rich.
