I have heard multiple times now that some renovation/updates for Alex Box are in the work. Even heard Jay say in an interview that he "has some plans on his desk right now that he is going over". Is this a sure thing and when will they formally announce it? I think it is needed for the arms race.

I know it is petty, but it irks me that State and Arky have overtaken The Box.

Don't need plans on Jay's desk to know chairback seats need to go all the way down both lines.

If it’s not something similar to what Miss st. did in left field, I’ll be disappointed. I know everything needs upgraded but I want opposing teams to feel surrounded. That elevated view would be a really unique way to watch a college baseball game as well.

And so has Ole Miss, South Carolina, etc…
Tennessee has a shite Park but the atmosphere there reminds me of the old Box. The new park is and always has been a morgue. It’s shitty architecture and a shitty atmosphere.

I would like to see some kind of walk way around the stadium. It takes 20 minutes to get from right field to left.

Add some kind of walk way along the open space in left center and right center walls. That can add standing room tickets and easier access around the whole ballpark.

I guess right now any upgrades are better than nothing. But something needs to be done to keep up with State.

I don’t have much confidence that enough will be done to elevate the fan comfort and experience I hope I’m wrong

Anything substantial is probably going to to take a backseat to the PMAC right now.

The New Box was poorly designed and built on the cheap.

Redoing the PMAC (used for at least 4 different sports) better be the first thing the LSUAD does and does soon. It's not a matter of favoring MBB/WBB over baseball. Its a matter of fixing what NEEDS fixing first before getting upgrades to a stadium that is not that old.

And I say this as a season ticket holder in 4 LSU sports: fball, MBB, WBB, and baseball.

The AD will fix whatever donors are willing to donate money to fix. If rich folks aren't willing to pony up tens of millions of dollars for the PMAC, it's not going to happen. My gut tells me donors will be more willing to open their pockets to do much cheaper renovations to the Box than they would be for the PMAC

Ark (Baum) overtook the Box about 12-15 years ago.

Yet LSU leads the nation is attendance year after year. Improvements will be made where it helps the program in recruiting. LSU players don't care about elevated bleachers, chairbacks, architecture or concessions. They care about indoor practice facilities, locker rooms, players lounges, state of the art video rooms.

"Shitty atmosphere...."? Funny how many players' / recruits' comments start off with how amazing The Box is. Tommy White's comments recently is great example. All 3 of the other ball parks mentioned here are relatively new, the one in Starkville in particular. As for its design being poor & cheap, this all falls on Skip's shoulders. He said he toured the country looking for ideas before he sat down with designers & planned just what he was looking for.
