(just added another link..now he is 7th round pick..can't wait for all you experts to now say all 4 sites are wrong, he has no chance)

LINK

At the risk of beating a dead horse (that would never happen on TD), here are 3 draft websites that rank kickers for 2019 draft and Cole is 1,2 or 3 in them. In other words according to these experts he is one of the best PK's talents for the draft (maybe the best). One of the sites has Punters and PK's on same list, but he is 2nd ranked PK.

I know all the "experts" on this board know better, but just thought I would share. I have no clue if he makes the NFL, but these sites seem to say he is a legitimate talent...but what do they know?

Who here doesn’t think that Cole Tracy is an incredible kicker? I mean it’s fair to point out that a lot of all-pro NFL kickers are absolute freaks with bionic legs which he isn’t but that’s the only “criticism” I’ve ever seen of him on this board

Can he kick a 60 yard FG?

He's been a GREAT kicker for LSU this season. His consistency is remarkable. However, there is merit to be concerned about leg strength. Yes, he's hit some from 50+ this year, but it's also worth noting that most struggled to get to the crossbar. NFL kickers routinely hit 50+ yarders with plenty of room to spare. A team would have to decide if they can live with some distance limitations in exchange for consistent accuracy.

Another thing worth noting is that the NFL doesn't have room for "kickoff specialist". Either your PK or Punter handles that duty. But whoever does it is expected to kick it in the endzone every time. Can Tracy do that?

I don't think ANY LSU fan doesn't want him to succeed. But it is reasonable to point out the concerns

NFL kicks are so flukey, especially with the new extra point

Guys that couldn’t miss in college routinely go into the NFL and can’t hit a 27 yarder. Carlson from Auburn and Aguaro or whatever From FSU we’re Two that come to mind. And the draft is pretty much pointless to them. 1 or 2 get drafted and it’s no longer a guarantee that you’ll win the job.

Hopefully Tracy can get on a good team and have some consistency. That’s a good gig if you get it

Everything that was said above is correct. There is so little room for error as an NFL kicker. Some don’t make it strictly because of bad luck

So if a team takes him, they are going to have to carry a second kicker just for kickoffs. I dont see him having a legit shot unfortunately

Yea he will have to get a stronger leg if he wants to make it in the NFL even as accurate as he is. Those NFL kickers make 50+ yard FG's with ease now..

I’m sure Cole could increase his max distance close to 60 if he was in the NFL.

If he’s 90% from 50 and in, with decent height at the LOS, his chances of making a team is high.

How in the world would he go about doing this?

Exactly. Not sure why posters are catching shite for pointing out that NFL coaches want guys who can kick 60 yarders.

ETA: look forward to him getting a shot though

He will get his shot but Gay is probably the only kicker getting drafted.

Accuracy is great, but distance not so much for an NFL kicker.

I could see him making it or not making it. To me it's about 50/50.

Look....I love LSU. I love Cole Tracy. I know kicking.

Cole is not an NFL kicker.

If anyone needs me to elaborate on this I can, but I encourage you to first do homework on the position and understand how the position and COle's skill-set transfers to the very limited number of jobs in the NFL available each year for a kicker.

If I’m an NFL GM, I’ll take a guy everyday and twice on Sunday that is 90% accurate up through 50 yards as opposed to the bionic freak that can kick one from 58 yards with ease but then duck hooks an extra point.

Hes a very accurate kicker but he doesnt have the length thats needed in the NFL. I'll be the one to say it... downvote away

If can put it in the end zone on kick offs he has a chance. I’ve never seen him kickoff so I have no idea if he can do it or not.
