And we resuscitated them

10-0 lead. Finley gives them a brief spark but a penalty and failed 4th down gives LSU a short field. Camera shows Nix on the sideline looking dejected. Their whole team looks on the brink of quitting. Of course we frick up that golden opportunity and have to settle for 3. 13-0. Then you know what happens.

As bad as we are we should’ve taken them to the wood shed. Should’ve been like a mix of the 2009 and 2011 games. Absolutely terrible letdown. A week after almost choking an 18 point lead at state. Yea having zero zilch zip nada run game doesn’t help but this team just loves to build a deserved lead and then turn it into a fricking tickle fight.

We don’t have that step on their throat mentality anymore.

Even with the lead in the 4th quarter we passed the ball like 11 straight tines with two 3 and outs. Moscona was going over it yesterday.

Don’t overthink it. When you’re inept at running the football you can’t put a team away. Not being able to run the football is %1000 the reason why we lost the football game.

And i hate when i see our players do the “4 fingers” at the end of the third quarter. It used to mean something. I remember Marcus Randall made a similar observation on the radio around 2017 during that season. Said it no longer means “we’re going to punish you in the 4th quarter.” They just do it like a bodily function and end up running out of gas.

Yea Auburn said “well you’re not gonna run even if we have as many as 9 in coverage, so…”

Waiting to see us do something to change a game. Going 4 down in the red zone against State was nice but that was pre planned im sure.

God i miss Dave and tFolder of adjustments

Exactly. They can rush 3 and not worry about the run at all.

I did that to myself too. Painful to watch knowing what was coming. I think Nix had Vaseline on his pants.

I was sitting with my best friend (an Auburn grad) during the game. WTF happened? It’s like a switch got flipped off. We were literally killing them with the short passing game. They also tried as hard as they could to give it to us with dumbass third down penalty. Screwing up on personal fouls after long gains. I actually thought what happens if they don’t get that penalty and move back across midfield and TJ drives them to score? Seriously... probably the same thing because there are very little adjustments being made by our coaching staff. My best friend walked out shocked and excited of course... all I could say is there is no way we should have lost that game. None.

I believe Nuss has it, but have no faith that this coaching staff can nurture it.
