you have Thornton the lone OLB pancaked

3 down "linemen" with Justin Thomas 256lb DE, Andre Anthony 250lb LB, and Michael Divinity 241lb LB

Zero chance of pressure on Ehlinger with that formation, nobody made a stunt or anything on the line, just went straight into the 5OL and 1RB in pass protection

and then Ehlinger just waited for an open receiver for a pitch and catch TD

Fresh and speedy makes sense.

Well that doesn’t make sense.

It took a perfect throw. Two different LSU defenders came within inches of batting the pass down. Reaching here

His defensive line cannot generate pressure with 5, so he puts three going to hopefully keep the Texas QB in the pocket and force him to throw into tight coverage, which is what happened.

Were were pretty damn close to deflecting the pass.

I twas a very good throw, and maybe not the best execution on Queens part

People act like Ehlinger played pitch and catch, but he threw a lot of absolute darts in this this game

There's an article the advocate just put out about them going with a containment philosophy because they wanted to force Ehlinger to beat them with his arm.

My only issue is that I feel they should have abandoned that by the time the 4th quarter had rolled around... because he WAS beating them with his arm lol.

If it's 3rd and long + the guy is a true dual threat... I say play the pass (I know this wasn't 3rd down, but I'm just generally referring to the rest of the game).

Basically, they dared him to throw most of the night, and he did... really well.

Wrong. It had to be a perfect pass and it was. Very close to have been batted down.
