I believe so too. The longer this search takes, the better it is for us. It tells me that the coach we are truly after is still coaching and doesn't want to make a move while his current program is still playing in Omaha.

We live in a different world now, fans play a small (maybe a large) role in hiring coaches.

I trust Woodward. It’s not that hard to figure out. If it was Bianco, Godwin, or McDonnell, any of these guys would have their bags packed and be heading to BR for a press conference. It’s pretty obvious our new coach is still coaching.

Or at the very least our top target is still coaching.

I think today/Thursday/Friday will tell us a lot…if we don’t have a hire by Friday, it’s pretty obvious our guy is still playing or we’re still after a guy that’s still playing.

I agree with the OP… I trust Woodward.

Bianco would be a classic Joe Alleva type hire I’m hoping Woodward wants better than that. That would be a lazy hire

That's true. But it also means those coaches have led their teams (almost) to the top of the college baseball mountain and they may not be as willing to leave to start all over again at a new place. Plus it makes their current school/AD more willing to do what is necessary to keep them there.

Absolutely…. If we want a guy that’s still playing, we need to root against Vandy/Tenn/Virginia winning it all

I guess go Stanford/NcState/Arizona

It would be pretty much impossible IMO to hire a coach right after winning a title

Wednesday morning and not a peep.

I am guessing Woodward has an offer on the table for one of the following or some combination of the four:

Corbin, Vitello, Johnson, O’Connor.

They will not respond until after their teams are eliminated.

I have to believe—and am damn sure hoping—that at this stage of the game, Bianco is an extreme fallback candidate.

I don’t “trust” Woodward, I just hope he does his job
I think he is, it takes time to interview multiple candidates
Some may even be in Omaha
Everyone who is saying they know is looking for clicks

Major sport hire. Frankly women’s basketball doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things.

LSU is not a “starting all over” type of move for any coach. The cupboard is not bare fellas. We’re loaded with young talent pitching and position player wise. That’s very attractive to a high profile coach. That along with all of the other reasons that make LSU a top 5 destination are very attractive

agreed that womans basketball is a small potato thing but at least here scotty finally displayed some balls and showed that he is still the old scotty.

every thing prior to that has been concerning. its been a list of PR blunders, bad hiring process or just clown show mistakes
