On top of the usual pretty tough schedule, LSU is traveling back and forth practically the whole season.
LSU is the only SEC team with a single, multiple-week home stretch. Every other SEC team has at least 2 such stretches. I think this will be a challenge - in fact, I think it's a huge factor.
Even though a given team may spend the night at a place like Jacksonville, I really don't consider a less-than-two-hour-trip a real travel game.

When Katrina hit, LSU had to move a game against one of the Mississippi teams from B.R. to Ms. I think it was MSU. That caused both Ms. games to be away that year and ever since. You get one less 2 games back to back every other year. We need to change that back to one in La. and one in Ms. each year. I always try to go to the Ms. games against LSU. We need to change it back in a rotation, even if for one year it's unfair to us. Due to Katrina.

That isn't true. LSU had to play at ole miss two years in a row around that time but it had to do with reformatting of sec schedules, not with katrina.

Real name synonyms are listed alphabetically - so Vanderbilt is last, etc.
As far as the lame nicknames, the only one I'll swear by is 'Red Team' - never speak the real name.

The weak point is:
Traveling back and forth constantly on a rotation of home and away games can have a significant affect on a team's performance. It could be fatiguing, mentally and physically or it could be a crucible in which the strength to overcome adversity is forged.
Either way, it can have an impact. And the numbers prove LSU's schedule is unique in the SEC, in this regard.
