The fact that people upvoted this is incredible.... 1. Louisiana is a talent rich state and the only major university. Tennessee is not and surrounded by other large programs. 2. We have not had a decade of mediocrity, we have been a top 10-12 program. 3. No offense to him and I loved his effort but Canada just called a season with Danny freaking Etling as his QB, both our QBs on the roster have higher ceilings moving forward and we could possibly return every starting OL next year, so next year should be MORE productive than this year. So basically everything in your statement is ignorant. Congrats.

Well LSU's already lost its grasp on Northern LA to Bama. It will lose the panhandle with a coach like Mullen at UF and Richt down in Miami. Before A&M joining, LSU relied heavily on east Texas, which will now be handed to Jimbo. And we're supposed to rely on O to overcome these geographical constrains by convincing 18-22 year old that he can better develop them despite not being able to guarantee who will be coaching them (his coordinators?)
Tennessee's downfall was an incompetent administration, which we have. There's a lot of potential in UT too, and it's clear that those outcomes aren't being reached because of piss poor decisions made internally. Danny Etling wasn't that bad. He wasn't Aaron Rodgers, sure, but look at his passing efficiency compared to our last 7 QBs. He made considerable strides. Want to discuss the rest of the roster? Those linemen are still missing, and that potent, and I mean potent secondary that makes LSU's defense so great will be gobbled up after the combine.

We get everybody's A game. Beating LSU means something because the Tigers were/are/will be a great football program.

Okay let’s continue to discuss. Houston is one of largest pro LSU towns so unless we royally piss off a head coach or a high school, we will continue to get our share, NLA has been getting robbed for years and I think we have actually made progress there in the past 2 years, the panhandle has always been a toss up so no comment there. And while our leadership might be disappointing Tennessee’s makes ours look like world beaters. Look I may be a little optimistic even though I’ve been very pessimistic regarding CEO. But you have gone full blown unwarranted melt.

Let's see

Saban - probably a loss
Jimbo - A&M's defense will still be lousy, no depth thanks to Chief
Mullen - meh. He won't have Fitz
Gus bus - lololololol are we acting afraid of Gus now
Moorehead (penn st didn’t contend before he became OC) - meh he put up numbers in the Big-10, so did Bielema

So a 9-3 coach O who is in a transition year all the while going 6-2 in the SEC after losing tons of NFL TALENT doesn’t give you a positive look into the future? But a coach like Jimbo goes 5-7 playing in the ACC (with an established program and great recruiting classes every year and more talent on paper) gets a pass? You’re right... there is nothing positive about a team who struggled but got better as the year went on. Spare me the Troy comments. I learned a long time ago that 1st impressions aren’t always reality. This team beat Auburn and stood toe to toe with Bama. Swap QBs and LSU beats Bama by 10 at points least. Improvement is what I was looking for and that’s exactly what I saw. But go ahead and keep being miserable if it makes you feel better.

Jimbo will have to take A&M from a spread offense to a pro style offense (that takes time) in a state dominated by spread offense in HS football.

What legacy does Matt Canada” have right now? Besides changing jobs every year? Listening to Hanny and Ott this past Monday...Hanny made a comment about Canada’s after hours activities? Do not know exactly what he was alluding to......BUT......these guys do have their “sauces”........too much goes on in the background that all of us Ranters never see.

Canada is desperate to leave because he knows what's coming, and how it will affect his legacy. It's either get that HC now or never. Jumping to another program as OC makes him look just as bad as O.

Assuming Canada ends up staying, losing Guice and replacing the second layer of 4/5 stars with 3/4 will do us in. It's been quite the ride, and I'm still sticking with the program in hope of better days. Just afraid that the problem is much deeper than Alleva. LSU and Tenn have a lot of parallels.

That's doo-doo, VooDude.

No, my perspective on O has become more favorable over the season. So if you're O pitching to some 4 star prospect in Houston, and he has offers from Bama, Auburn, TCU, Oklahoma, Texas, and now A&M just an hour away, how do you sell LSU? Jimbo is one hell of a salesman. All I would see is a destabilized program with major uncertainty in the future at all coaching positions and a coach relying on his Cajun brand and pom poms to keep the spirit alive.

Last year everyone was bitching about having to play 5 SEC road games this year. Going 3 and 2 on the road wasn't that bad

I would sell them on our proximity to Houston and the fact that there are actually things to do in Baton Rouge as opposed to College Station, that we have the most active NFL players from any college, that our facilities are top notch, that our women are gorgeous, that we compete with the best, that we don’t have ****s in white jump suits screaming at us every home game to get us pumped up in Death Valley, and that I didn’t just bail on a program that I “built”. Look Jimbo has top 5 to 10 classes t FSU and they are horrible this year (defense included) and while he has done a lot for QBs he hasn’t be dominant with out Winston. He’s a good coach, but his greatness is debatable. I think he benefitted from a generational QB and then a down ACC
