Here is what I posted last week...

You have to assume the SEC champ, ACC champ, and Big 10 champ get in over LSU even if they have 2 losses (and not too many scenarios allow for 3 loss champs in those conferences).

UCF would have to lose a game, Notre Dame would probably have to lose 2. Alabama would have to beat Georgia (otherwise both would get in over LSU). Then you still have the big 12 and pac 12 champs. You might have a 3 or 4 loss pac 12 champ (USC or Utah) because of the championship game. If WSU loses a game but wins the Pac12 LSU would have a case over them. The biggest problem is the Big 12 which has 1 loss OU and West Virginia. Even if they both drop a game I think the champ go over LSU with 2 losses. They will play each other twice in a row because of the championship game. Best case is that WVU loses to OSU and OU and the. Beats OU in championship game.

In summary:
1. LSU wins out
2. Bama beats Georgia
3. UCF loses
4. Notre Dame loses, probably need twice
5. Washington State loses Pac 12 championship game ( if they win pac 12 but drop another game LSU would have argument over WSU but WSU probably gets nod)
6. WVU or OU lose to OSU and their final game against OU/WVU but then win the Big 12 champ game
7. Bonus : northwestern wins Big ten and leaves OSU and UM with 2 losses
8. Double Bonus: Clemson loses to South Carolina and the ACC championship game

So definitely a long shot but maybe not as impossible as I expected

Is this the guy who in 2007 after LSU lost its second game of the year to Arkansas, came on this board claiming to have numbers describing away that LSU could still make the BCS championship, only to be met with ridicule, and then eventually getting the last laugh by being cold stone Nostradamus like accurate, thus establishing himself as a minor legend?

Yes. Those were the days this board was great. Weekly LSUMatt threads were amazing.

The only thing I miss about the BCS is LSUMatt threads.

not necessarily. if b1g, big12 and pac12 knock themselves out, nd can be in and lsu still get in the 4th spot

7. Bonus : northwestern wins Big ten and leaves OSU and UM with 2 losses
herein lies the rub. if northwestern does not win, the b1g is in every time. and there's basically no chance of that happening. not in a million years. b1g refs will not allow northwestern to upset a potential playoff team. too many millions of dollars at stake. heads would roll in the b1g office if that happened.
