Here’s the press conference.

LINK

Two things I noticed.

He seemed very nervous (side to side rocking) when discussing Burrow’s ability to go through progressions, and his ability to change the play post-snap.

He seemed equally nervous when discussing his defense’s ability to keep the score down.

I remember Tom Herman looked exactly like this before the Texas game.

From an X’s and O’s standpoint, Florida’s defense seems to depend on substitution. It had 22 separate guys make tackles against Auburn. We can destroy that with tempo offense.

tl;dr: Gator coach skeerd.

I think we kick their arse but this is a bit of a reach. Looked like 99% of media interviews I’ve ever seen where the guy has 10 cameras and microphones shoved in his face

And he was able to keep the score respectable... With the help of a garbage time TD.

With the help of a good offense on his side too. Florida doesn't have this luxury

Standing in front of a bunch of reporters with cameras and microphones will naturally make people nervous, I think you're reading too much into this.

What I got from his body language was that he didn't want to talk too much about it.

We were a 3rd and 17 away from potentially losing that game.

Maybe. But it starts and stops and seems to be topic dependent.

The experts tell me that somewhere between 50 and 70 percent of what you communicate is body language, not what you say. And when what you say is at odds with your body language . . .

But I’m really just pulling all this out my arse because it’s Wednesday and still a ways to go to Saturday.

HAHA I hear ya!

That is certainly true. I study body language a little as a hobby, I am by no means an expert. But you usually want to look for more than 1 sign. Yes he seems nervous, but like I said being in front of reporters answering questions will make anyone nervous. So you have to take that into account. It's hard to get a read on what he thinks about LSU because of that.

I kinda chuckled at Grantham saying LSu still runs some of the same offense we ran last year. Welp

I watched it yesterday, Grantham looked like he was straining in order to not give Burrow much credit like it was painful. Joe’s just a good QB, you know, just average, just one of only three QB’s in the country at the top of offensive statistics and 2nd in Heisman votes. That’s all!

Just curious, have you watched any of his other press conferences to be able to compare this one to? I know a lot of people do watch opposing team's press conferences, but that's usually just the ones the week they play, instead of watching other team's press conferences throughout the season. I'm just wondering it this is anything out of the ordinary for him.

It seems a little dishonest to say a coach is noticeably more nervous in one press conference if you haven't watched any of the others. I think you may be reading too much into this. I watched it and it doesn't appear he is nervous, it just seems like it may be normal movements for him.

Well, I was just kinda making this up as I go.

As far as "dishonesty," this is the tRant. There is a penumbra around truth here. We are truthy. We exaggerate. We preen. We boast. On Wednesdays before a big game, when we are caught in that tug of war between weekends, we outright make shite up to make the time pass.

I am a pretty honest person. And I think I get a little bit of a pass for wearing my purple and gold colored glasses here.

Yes. He rocks when he’s nervous.
