you're a fool if you think that any coach will leave their pitchers out there with more than 80-100 pitch count this early in the season.

but, the small ball bullshite is really frustrating to someone who loved skip's gorilla ball years.

While i tend to agree, eastern kentucky’s coach left their starter in against us last saturday throwing 119 pitches

Marceaux would have thrown the 7th if he hadn’t started to lose it in the 6th

LSU had all hands on deck in the bullpen. It was the right call to pull him

Watching the game, it turned on one pitch that grazed the arm of the hitter. The hitter was down in the count and likely a strike out victim. The next batter benefited from that in how the pitcher tried to pitch. shite happens.

that's a very risky and desperate move on his part. especially for recruiting.

Also to clarify, the “hit batter” wasnt really hit with the ball, was a bad call

This is what people aren’t mentioning. In the 5th there were a couple we’ll hit balls that were outs then in the 6th they hit Marceaux hard. I was there and It was obvious that they had figured out Marceaux. Sometimes pitching changes don’t work out.

If Storz and Kaminer dont leave a pitch hanging then none of us are frustrated right now.

Exactly. They were on their third time through the order with Marceaux and he got tagged twice in the sixth. It was the right decision.

I wasn’t happy with their performance, but I think we prob need to get used to those guys pitching in those situations

They are trying to groom Storz to be a 7th inning guy. And Kaminer is one of your LOOGY’s

I think the idea was to get thru the 7th & have Fontenot come in for 2ip save. Tbh I liked the whole idea in theory. Sometimes it doesnt work

According to the Advocate this morning, Marceaux was experiencing cramps in his calf and that's why he started to lose some of his stuff and why he got yanked.

We were literally inches away from getting through the seventh without issue. Hampton just missed the ball in left and Kaminer grazed the jersey on their guy with an 0-2 count. Sucks but shite happens.

That Hampton error was huge. Or double. Should have been an error

Bats are different. The game has changed accordingly. Gorilla ball is gone. Most college teams have 2-3 dudes that can take it out on any given swing. You have to manufacture runs these days.

They knew that if they won that game, it’ll be huge for their RPI this season. That’s the only reason they Lavalled their pitcher

You obviously have an attention deficit disorder. Cole Henry threw 92 pitches against Texas and Longhorn pitcher Bryce Elder threw 97. Marceau threw only 80
when he was pulled and he had a nearly 20 minute rest between innings as Texas replaced two pitchers.

Early in the year. We have to use a lot of guys to know who we can count on later. We cant have pitchers throwing a 120 pitches the 3rd weekend season.

This is legit. Put lefty in for one left hand hitter. Get him out when he fails miserably still having the lead. Not that hard.
