He should win the whole frickin thing. All these jackasses in the media ever talk about is how you need to have that Heisman moment. TR had that one nice run against OLE MISS. RGIII had one on that final drive against Oklahoma. Andrew Luck maybe had one late against USC to get it to OT. They all have nice stats. And none of them are in TM7's league. The last two weeks alone he has had more Heisman moments than all of them combined have had all season. And we're talking about two games with direct impact on the national title. And how about all the moments in the first five games of the year. When he wasn't creating Heisman moments, he was playing centerfield on the best defensive team in America. His season this year is at least as impressive as Woodson in 97 who beat out an all timer of a QB in Peyton. Does one one game suspension really knock him out of consideration? Against Auburn?

He was withheld from play. I know nothing of a suspension.

TM7 doesn't give a shite if he wins it or not. And if he wants it, he'll just take it.

How awesome would it be for matthieu to get invited to NY and after Richardson is announced as winner the honey badger sprints across the stage snatches the trophy and says. Honey badger takes what he wants......

Good quarterbacks in less defensive leagues can get big gawdy numbers. But we've seen this before. TR is good but would be nothing without that big offensive line. And we see good running backs all the time.

It is special to watch a player like TM make plays. He is a play maker, period. And his body of work (highlights) stands head and shoulders above all the other candidates.

Unfortunately, he won't get invited because the media(ESPN) doesn't even talk about him. This morning when they were reviewing the Heisman hopefuls, there was no mention of Mathieu. I would like to ask Herbstreit what has changed for him. Early in the season he was on the bandwagon. After the last 2 weeks why would you not be hyping TM7!

Didn't he say last night, TM7 was his number 1?

TM7 has has the most impact on games than any other player in the nation IMHO, going back to the Oregon game. Remember the forced fumble, recovery and resulting 7 pt. swing? It started there.

If he said that, good for him. I missed that. However, the rest of his network doesn't agree.

What ticks me off is they rarely mention him if at all recently. These last two weeks have been as special a two weeks as I've ever seen from a college football player. For a CB to put the team on his shoulders like he's done, the No 1 undefeated most dominant team in the country, is truly remarkable and was the exact reason we were told in 1997 that Woodson should win the award. And Michigan 1997 was not even close to LSU 2011.

TM7's problem isn't media exposure or the suspension...he had like 4 (or so) average/bad games in the middle of the year

RG3 Wrapped it up yesterday. Trent won't win because TM7 gonna take away some of hos SEC votes. Suspension keeps him from NY.

Relax, he'll be leading candidate going into next year.

I don't agree. He got burned a couple of times. Not much mind you. He's an aggressive CB. He certainly didn't get burned enough to make a dent in the outcome of any game. And what about all the other plays he made. He also doesn't get the recognition he deserves for being a key part of a great punt coverage unit, one of the best of all time. He also has made tackles on some of the long balls that he didn't give up from out of nowhere that don't get recognized. I've never seen him give up on a play.

Boom!

Get Miles on sportscenter saying this and let them replay that shite all day. By the end of the day Mathieu will be on everyone's Heisman ballot.

that second punt return yesterday was the most amazing non-scoring return I have ever seen. He made the entire Georgia team miss once and would have scored if not for a shoestring tackle...

He definitely deserves to be there but the so called know it alls didnt preseason pick him so they just try to forget who performs rather than who they pick! No doubt those other guys are great athletes but TM7 should have a shot at it!

Although I understand what you mean, it really started in the first game last year against North Carolina. That dude has been all over the field and has had meaningful impact on the game since then. Even with him being "held out" of the Auburn game, I am convinced that not only should he be invited, he should be given serious consideration to win the Heisman. If you don't think so, compare his defensive stats to the last defensive player to win it...
