Would be higher if the offense could sustain some drives.

They have been clutch with forcing turnovers and helping significantly with the field position. A lot of bend/break this season but they have limited points and opportunities

Disappointed with how rough the D line was this year

We were higher before A&M and our D-Line could be a bit suspect at points

16th in the country in defensive S&P. Total defense is not the best metric to look at because there's zero adjustment for strength of schedule or pace.

Weak DL and on the field too much because of an inept offense will exaggerate the numbers of how good the defense really is.

That’s a terrible stat

Points per drive is a more accurate stat

I think the Alabama and A&M games skewed defensive numbers downward. Other than those two games you would see great numbers.

Total defense and offense are crap stats
Offensive and Defensive efficiency take in account yds per play, sos , etc and are more accurate rankings

No pass rush without bringing extra.

I agree in certain games they were on the field way too long and got gassed.

As bad as the offense was they rarely turned it over allowing short fields and the special teams were great. Maybe there is a stat showing avg starting field position

Why would you assume. We have been bend don’t break most of the year.

Forcing turnovers and playing ok on third has made the difference

The biggest cop out I see by LSU fans making excuses for the LSU defense. As said above me, the defense has been a bend but don’t break. Our fans are far too quick to blame the offense anytime the defense gives up a drive.

K’levon was the missing piece. Would’ve been top 10 with him

That's pathetic considering having multiple 1st rounders on defense. I don't care how you spin this

That's counting the 7 OTs.

Before that we were much lower.

You don't want to know what the offense was before the 7 OTs...
