the only problem is the shoulder stripes, which in the past have looked like suspenders.

I'd also make the shade of purple in our jersey match the purple shade on the helmet. They're not even remotely close.

They were identical back in the 70s and 80s. No reason it can't happen now.

I like the plain gold helmets with simply numbers rather than LSU and tiger face logo. It was the uniform I remember as a little kid - Tommy Casanova and Bert Jones. We wore them for Ole Miss last year. I'd like to see those once or twice a year at home, at least for a throw-back night.

Ehhh, idk man. They're great unis, but I wish we would wear purple at home and white away. I think our gold, purple, gold is the better combo, just my opinion. Also, this is a business and the market is 15-18yr old kids, not 90 yr old men, uniform tradition doesn't affect recruiting, and having cool combos definitely does (Oregon built some good years off of unis). Ask Sears and Circuit City how "staying traditional" worked out for them business wise.

Everytime I see this in writing my eyes just start to bleed a little.

That's what I remember from my youth, and it was the best IMO.
