Tiger Stadium turf...Whats the plan?

Not to knit pick, but the only negative i saw this season and last night is the condition of the field at the TS.
Last night guys were slipping and ripping up chunks of turf.
If I were LSU admins, i would hire a consultant from Miss. State’s turf program and get this corrected. MSU has the best golf course management program around and you can tell they know what they are doing with the football field.
Hell, even Auburn’s field looked like it held up much better after the Iron Bowl compared to TS.
So what the plan and who is in charge of its replacement?

Auburn’s field was an absolute wreck. It rains and the fields get sloppy. Some things are hard to control. Not sure if there is a perfect solution to this.

It’s being replaced.
Also they need to stop allowing the country music festival to play there. It should only be used for football

Chances of going artificial in the next 10 years? I've heard the term "Goat Pasture" kicked around lately. Do grass fields have a shelf-life and need to be replaced every so many years??
That said, I believe that teams with home grass play better when traveling to artificial turf.

Overall this was the worst I've seen it over the course of the season. It's never been this bad. Someone fricked up.

Dude relax. The field is scheduled to get replaced.
Probably a lot to do with it is the shite weather we had since July.
- Rained all July
- Didn’t rain a drop in August or September and we had triple digits thru the first week of October
- Cool and rainy in October
- Arctic blast first of Nov

Hire the Mississippi St. crew

If you are so passionate about the turf then donate money to TAF. It’s that simple. If you do not have the money then all good. Focus on more important issues.

I believe the field gets replaced every offseason. NFL fields do it multiple times if necessary.

That rinky dink stadium of theirs doesn’t block the sun like TS

It was worse when the saints played here.
The field held up pretty good last night. Considering the record flood stage of the miss river all summer the field did great. I’m old school football should be played on real grass frick all those rubber pellets.

Being replaced this spring.

IMO the turf is much better than it was 20 years ago, when they had major problems. Painting the field green to cover dirt and dead grass was normal.

I have said this repeatedly over the last couple of weeks. LSU turf is not 3" thick grass. It is mowed like a PGA fairway. So is every other grass field in the SEC. Ole Miss field looked like it had been plowed a couple weeks ago after we played.

I am pretty sure we are using a MSU developed sod/turf/drainage presently. I know we were when Miles was still here.
