Three times Saban has been to the playoffs; twice he has been beaten.
Posted by DmitriKaramazov on 1/9/17 at 11:34 pm672
All the teams that have beaten Bama in the last five years have used the same formula: spread offense featuring a mobile, accurate QB. Not one exception, really.
Saban isn't unbeatable, you just need innovative and effective offensive coaching.
Hope LSU takes heed.

Pretty sure, he didn't mention Lsu being in the playoffs.

accurate QB.
Cardale Jones wasnt an accurate qb, was definitely mobile. He hit some big plays that game. Ezekial elliot ran for 200+ that game also.

And both times its been by a 3rd and 4th seed, no? Seems the playoffs are doing their job. Sometimes the best team isn't ranked 1st or 2nd at the end of the season.

Believe me when I say I claim no moral victory at all. Clemson's victory isn't LSU's. And we haven't beaten Bama since 2011, which is disgusting.
I'm merely pointing out that Saban and Bama aren't unbeatable, contrary to the excuses and laments of some here. They can be defeated. And it's no coincidence that every team that vanquished them employs a similar offensive template.

Just the threat of a mobile QB changes what the defense does...thus either opening up lanes for the rb or passing attack.

I agree, but the lesser of two evils won.

That's why he's a proponent of winning NCG as a bowl.

No SEC officials to help them win. Justice!

That was our problem. Miles could not think out of the box.

He thought out of the box all the time. That's where the other 3 defenders are. Attack them with a sideline go route - only way to handle it.

It's harder than you think because a Deshaun Watson doesn't come around often in college football and usually if they do it isn't until their Jr year and then they never see their Sr. year in college.

It's why Saban brought in Pete's boys to try and extend his championship run. Saban's not happy, in fact he's down right miserable what the rules allow an offense to now do. And of course it's okay to target players to try and knock them out of the game in the first half so his defense can cruise. And of course the holding and pass interference calls, just get away with it, it's all part of the game. But those rubs pass run plays are down right illegal.
