He doesn't appear to have any struggle but his motion seems different and the throws are losing steam at the end, ending up in the dirt.

It's either a physical change from his injury or the issues are so far in his head he's throwing TO first instead of THROUGH first.

It may be more the latter, the more I think about it.

The problem is that he’s not throwing …he’s aiming…and then gravity takes over

Doesn't attack the ball because he thinks he has a canon. Problem is he doesn't have the slightest idea where it's going.

Hes all arms, instead of charging the ball & throwing on the come.

it’s absolutely mental.

when he has to dive and just instinctively pop and throw, he has a cannon that accurate.

when it’s hit at him and he has time to step and throw, he butchers it.
It’s like he takes a double step, but release in mid 2nd step and comes up short.

That throw just now looked very good. Not sure what's up with that young man.

Holy shite. TV just said the SAME thing(minus the butcher comment). Not sure if it was Ronnie or Lyn but they echoed what you just said(you were first. ).

I appreciate you baseball smart MFers b/c I don't know shite about baseball.

Nah, he makes bad throws in all circumstances.

If you think this is new, you obviously haven't been watching all season.

The fact that he cut his hair should tell you all you need to know. It’s all mental.

Did you watch his error tonight. His feet were still when he fielded the ball. Derek Jeter couldn’t mAke that throw with those shitty mechanics.

The one that I saw last night, when he short hopped Tre, he sat back on the ball and fielded it flat footed. Once he he did that with that guy flying down the line, he didn’t have time to “crow hop” into his throw. Threw it from on his heels with no movement toward his target and it died.

Even on balls that are hit pretty hard at you, SS especially, you field the ball with a little momentum towards the bag by “circling the ball”. Him doubting his fielding caused him to sit back and wait on it, and created all the other problems once he fielded it clean.

It’s called letting the ball play HIM.

He did come off of injury right before the season started. That could be part of it. But it does look like his zip on the ball has not been what it was at times. It looks like he doesn't quite use his footwork like he did last year when he would fire the ball.
