This will end with 25 or 28 Team BIG vs 25 or 28 Team SEC

I think the number would 25. 5 divisions of 5 teams, 8 team conference playoff. Super Bowl BIG vs SEC.

BIG will only take AAU schools. Been well documented. Notre Dame would be the exception. *All are P5 AAU schools who are not in the SEC or current Big 10 plus SoCal.

Washington *
Oregon *
Stanford *
California *
Arizona *
Utah *
Colorado *
Kansas *
Iowa St *
Pittsburgh *
Virginia *
Duke *
North Carolina *
Georgia Tech *

Syracuse used to be an AAU like Nebraska but not anymore. I think the SEC would NOT let them come into the south. They probably don't want Iowa St, Pittsburgh because it doesn't make sense and they aren't the biggest brands. The PAC 12 is officially over.

Here's my ideal scenario

BIG

Washington
Oregon
Utah
Colorado
Nebraska

Cal
Stanford
UCLA
USC
Arizona

Kansas
Iowa
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Illinois

Northwestern
Notre Dame
Purdue
Michigan
Michigan St

Indiana
Ohio St
Penn St
Maryland
Rutgers

SEC

Missouri
Oklahoma
Oklahoma St
Texas
Texas A&M

Arkansas
LSU
Ole Miss
Miss St
Alabama

Auburn
Tennessee
Kentucky
Georgia
Florida

Virginia
Virginia Tech
NC State
North Carolina
South Carolina

Vanderbilt
Clemson
Georgia Tech
Florida St
Miami (FL)

The number could be 28 but 25 allows for easier 12 game schedule plus playoffs.

Loser schools are

Washington St
Oregon St
Kansas St
Iowa St
Texas Tech
TCU
Baylor
Louisville
Wake Forest
West Virginia
Pittsburgh
Syracuse
Boston College

Wild times.

Who knows how this could go. Crazy stuff. Oregon may be the next one to watch to see if it goes the way you have. They can’t be happy to be left in a weaker pac 10. Especially with the money they have. They may control what happens to the pac 10. Don’t think any of the other schools have enough power to sway things.

I can get on board with it. But then we also need to create 2 more second tier conferences with 25 teams a piece as well. Top 2 teams from each of the second tier conferences get promoted to the SEC/BIG each year, and bottom 2 teams from the SEC/BIG get relegated

There aren't enough additional high quality programs to fill up two 25 to 28 team leagues, it would water down competition yet again. How many "fans" want to watch ranked #4 play #50 in regular season match ups, etc.

I can see it being Far West, Northern and East Cost vs ALL southern teams

We currently have #1 playing multiple teams outside of the top 100 every year.

I’m fine with 4 vs 50.

Insignificant Power 5 football programs with small to medium sized stadiums and even smaller national appeal.

5 divisions of 5 teams and the biggest rivalry in the SEC Alabama-Auburn and you don’t have them in the same division?

Can you explain what an AAU school is?

I've only heard this used with travel team basketball.

The SEC had a really good thing going. They already have a bowl payout sharing mechanism. Their greed for even more is going to get the whole thing blown up with a massive “income distribution” clause across the board, nationwide, akin to a luxury tax. I believe the very concept of amateur athletics is over.

I agree. It will ultimately boil down to two super conferences.

However, there is absolutely ZERO chance that Alabama is not in the same division with Auburn and Tennessee.

No matter which way it goes, the one thing that will happen for sure....this will be the end of the NCAA rule of college football.
