Not at all. I am expecting a sec west title this year.

It’s just hilarious to see people who take the rant too serious.

And that says it all. You are nothing but a clown show. The fact is that Alabama is significantly more talented than lsu and everyone else. Thus, they are less than even money to win the west. Most of us realize that lsu appears to be bringing in some very good talent, and filling holes, that will allow the program to begin legitimately competing for championships again. A 10-2 season would be a step forward in that direction, but probably won't win the west.

But, you are just a clown show. If you truly believed in lsu to win the west, you wouldn't be on here 24/7 bashing O and the team.

So you admit you get your jollies by trolling. Nice life.

Of course but LSU has not always been competitive, they will this year

My skepticism is is the leadership from the HC there? I mean when it gets to game day...... I just don't know.

I understand the facts you presented. I've read them here hundreds, if not thousands of times. I don't take issue with any. What I don't understand is the repetition of his Ole Miss record, etc at this point. It was important and should have been relevant when he was being considered for the job. At this point-- last year is a bit more important bc it reflects how he coached here. But, since he has another year to coach, in my mind, this year will be the key-- its make or break for O.

So I choose to be optimistic, until this year proves otherwise. Will optimism or pessimism affect the outcome? Nope. But I'd rather be happy in this moment than miserable in this moment. My choice. Yours may vary.

“This team will win a lot of games”

You must not have heard. Losing is OK as long as we look good doing it. It’s no longer all about wins. L’s are OK as long as they are competitive losses and we look good.

A eight or nine win season will be OK with some as long as the team looks good in their losses.

No, the goal post haven’t moved at all with some. lol

My take is and always will be, “ just win, baby, just win”!

Conceding multiple automatic losses in the preseason is NOT something this board used to do. Even though I think we’ll go 10-2, I’m not ready to concede a damn thing before the ball is snapped in the first game.

The 2011 team did not have an elite RB either.. Spencer Ware, Michael Ford, Alfred Blue, and Kenny Hilliard all got touches.

Is it ok if I choose agnosticism with a side of worry instead of optimism?

I WANT this to all work out. But my wanting it to happen and what I think based on his past experiences and current track record at LSU does not lead me to think it will.

So...I'm not optimistic about this season or the current trajectory of the program at large. That's not to say that I'm not excited for the approaching football season, because I am. I can't wait for the first game in Tiger Stadium this year, and like always I'll be in my seats in the EU sweating my balls off 2 hours before kick off watching warm-ups and will be as loud as ever, etc. But overall? No...the Orgeron hiring and most of what he's done since being head coach has sucked the optimism for the long term of the program out of me.

I'm also not doom and gloom about things, as I don't think he'll wreck anything. You want my prediction? I think he'll ultimately be a game or two worse than miles overall while here. To me, I think that's terrible...because that's just not why we got rid of Miles and it will be a direct reflection of his competence as a coach.

The issue I have with repeating 8-4, 7-5, 9-3 type seasons is that BECAUSE he's "one of us" getting the fan base to acknowledge that the hire was a mistake and it's not working and that we need to MOVE ON will be incredibly hard. Hell...you can see it here daily as thread after thread is started attempting to tap down expectations for the season in an attempt to make what was once seen as unacceptable into a win. Just a few years ago saying that Miles had a 10 win season was called sunshine pumping, because we were told 10 wins season meant so much less in the era of 13 games, etc. Now we're exceeding expectations if the team makes it to 10 wins with a bowl win. We've spent a season and a half watching folks move goalposts around for a guy who, as far as many of us are concerned, was never up to this job in the first place.

I appreciate that take. I'm not choosing to be unhappy...just choosing not to pretend to be optimistic when I really am not.

So basically, just like every other team ever that a fired coach left behind?

Why didn't I hear the rebuild talk beforehand? All I heard before was how any idiot could win 10 games at LSU.

The OP is correct IF Ensmingers offense is worthy and has a QB who is efficient. That remains to be seen.

Feels like everyone failed to acknowledge that until O popes his pants against Troy.
