This team and Thompson

Thompson had a tough inning. However he was able to turn the page and get a single that scored a run. Sure there was some pressure off because of the balk, but in the end that run won the game. Love to see a true freshman turn the page in a big moment and come through. Errors will happen, but coming back in the bottom half shows the fight and grit. The entire team displayed this all weekend! Great win tigahs!

I mean, I’m glad he got the single, but I sure hope we have a better option at SS for next season

He is no Bergman sure, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t be developed and gain confidence through the next coaching staff. I would much rather have a kid make an error, and then come up with a clutch hit than one who hangs his head and feels sorry for himself. Not ready to give up on Jordan yet!

Bregman had a few bad errors his freshman year but he would stay late and field grounders for hours after the game. Thompson needs to work on fielding the ball and throwing to 1st. He’s been solid all year but playing in a regional seemed to really get in his head.

Time will only tell. I was just happy to see a young guy at a pivotal position erase his wrongs. Shows a lot about this freshman group.

Fun Fact:
Thompson went to the same HS as Bill Walton, Reggie Bush, Alex Smith and the late actor Dennis Hopper.

If you like Bregman, you’re gonna love Conner Simon.

Completely disagree. Yes the error was bad, but he's a terrific defender/player and he's only a freshman. He's good already and will be even better.

He went to Helix? Didn’t know that. That’s a long arse drive to Temecula.

And he hasn't had that much experience on turf. The ball comes in fast.

Arnold is the one from Temecula. Thompson is from San Diego

He looks like he dropped out in 8th grade and went to trade school.

Errors. He had a few this weekend. Pretty sure the kid from St. Paul’s is gonna take his position

Odds are that next year Simon will be LSU's 2nd baseman.

Sorry about fat fingering a down vote! Totally agree!

I said “OK Thompson this is where you make up for it.” I have a feeling he told himself something similar.

I’m near Temecula all the time. Not how people imagine California

Me too. Good player, and there has to be a place for him on the field, but not SS.
That guy should be tried at catcher. His arm is unbelievable. But with his fielding, I doubt he would be great at stopping wild pitches.
