We have the most important piece in baseball to make a run. PITCHING. Everybody knows great pitching beats good hitting most of the time. We are struggling to hit the ball because we have first time players. These young players will get better the more plate appearances they have and experience.

I get it, everyone is tired of Pawl. But if you look at the team objectively. We are in good shape.

Well, with a 7-5 record, that does qualify as “most of the time.” So does 29-27. If we can accomplish that, all good.

Just enjoy the melt and try not to laugh and smile so much your jaw hurts every day like mine has lately.

I can hardly go to sleep at night because of jaw pain. It's worth it though.

I am one of the biggest CPM homers on this site

Hitting sucks
Is it coaching?
Is it recruiting?

I don’t know, but it’s bad & needs to be fixed

Was told the exact same thing about Miles, over and over and over again.

Look at where Miles is today, and look at where LSU is. We made a change when we were in good shape, and got great. And I hated the hiring of Coach O, but EdO saw the Miles model and knew that he wasn't going to be here long without changes to the offense.

The offense has gotten worse under Paul.

In either sport, you do not win, if you do not actively pursue the opportunity to score points. On a daily basis.

Your jaw pain didn’t come from laughter.

This really isn’t a good excuse; it’s not just young players that are struggling up there.

I’m disappointed that, so far, it really doesn’t look like Eddie Smith has had any impact on the approach at the plate. Guys like Bianco and Dugas should have been prime candidates to have major turnarounds with what Smith teaches.

This is some bull shite that needs to stop too. Every coach that is not doing well at LSU has said this coach is turning into a Les Miles situation. That's not possible and doesn't apply.

REALLY....you are serious huh. get ready for a long disappointing season 34 strikeouts in 3 games ain't gonna cut and there will be more double digit strikeout games in the future.

How is it a “bull shite” comparison? Explain the difference please.

Who are these coaches you speak of? Other than PM?

No one would even know you, if people had just kept laughing about Miles complaints, and thusly never would have allowed your boss the chance to coach LSU.

Dude yesterday Labas had a no hitter going into the 8th inning and we still lost. No matter how good our pitching is we will fall short because of our inconsistent play at the plate.

One major difference is LM refused to change anything

CPM changed hitting coaches
Constantly tinkers with lineup to see what works best

Why? Both coaches appear to have gotten into that phase of life where they angle to win just enough to get that contract extension.

The hunger is clearly gone.

LM changed OC’s multiple times actually. It didn’t work.

Paul tinkering with the lineup doesn’t seem to work much.

The Les Miles era had gotten stale and fans were ready for a change. Same with Paul. That’s really the only comparison you need, and it absolutely makes sense.

Simple. LSU was no longer an elite football program. LSU is still an elite baseball program. The numbers suggest this.

But wait....I know what you're gonna say. Well we haven't won the national championship since 2009. But only two schools have won more than one since then. That's Vandy and South Carolina.

Been discussed ad nauseam but Vandy has a built in recruiting advantage being a private school. And South Carolina has replaced two coaches since then and not even close to that program they once were.
