We beat Auburn and we have 2 top 10 wins, we should be #1 in the country

You’re missing his point, which is correct.

If LSU beats Auburn, there is not another team in the country with 2 wins equal or better than LSU’s 2 wins.

In other words, using the committee’s approach to ranking teams, LSU would likely be #1 through 3 weeks.

It doesn’t matter because we won’t beat Auburn IMO, but if we do there is absolutely an argument for LSU being #1 through 3 weeks.

In the good ol' days that would be correct. These days Alabama and Clemson stay at the top until they lose.

Not being preseason ranked #25, had they been 15 or better, yes

No, he's wrong. They vote on who are the best teams, not who beat the best teams. If it was the latter there would be no reason for human voters; we would just have a computer rank them.

How do you know they are the best teams if they play junior colleges every week and get taken to wire by unranked teams
