TW everyone drops a few games to “farm teams” in college baseball. It’s hard to go undefeated in OOC games.
A few is one thing, but we drop more than a few....lets make in state teams = farm teams. Pretty apt if you ask me since LSU should have first pick of talent in state and should be miles ahead of Tech, Southeastern, Northwestern etc.
Looked back at the most recent full season....we went 6-5 against in state opponents. 6 and fricking 5...barely above .500 against VASTLY inferior talent.
I choose this because not only should it be unacceptable to lose this much to inferior teams, but it's just downright embarrassing for the fanbase/program. To have southern, northwestern and fricking Mcneese beating their chest saying they beat us is fricking embarrassing, and it's a regular occurrence.
Buy hey....it did translate to use being in great shape down the stretch....we made it to a super regional...that we got bounced out of in 2 straight games

And so did Vandy, UF, and whoever the frick else you want to throw in there. Actually UF was horrible in 2019. LSU fans would have been still melting over that year

I think its because our position players are young with a veteran pitching staff. I just seems that we can never align the two. Lot of promising young guys (Crews, Morgan, etc.), but its gonna be hard to win against teams with upperclassmen on the mound and at the plate. Arkansas, Moo State, and Ole Miss are always good programs, so I'm not surprised nor disappointed with that projection. Just hoping to be pleasantly surprised come conference play.

Looked at the schedule...Florida was basically .500 on the whole year so they just sucked. So you're saying a bad team lost bad games...I think that's kinda what were all worried about here
And vandy won the whole damn thing....we wouldn't be melting about dropping headscratchers if we won it all, but we haven't in over a decade.

But why take a guy out (Arnold) who hit a home run and turned a sweet double play Game 1, and looked like the best player out there and replace him with bianco, who has never played shortstop? And leave hellmers at third after he struggled game 1?
And then bring in your stud closer when you’re up 4 game 1, and say he’s unavailable to close when we actually need him
And then game2, take out viet when he was dealing to bring in a true freshman, and then a senior who struggles to throw strikes
All that. I’m getting tired of Les Mainieri and we’re just 2 games in

I've been saying this for years, but get so much flack about most people believing all of PMs excuses. I'm so tired of having an average coach who wins just enough to not get fired.

The problem is not with number of wins and losses. That's baseball will always stop a win.
The problem LSU has is the way LSU plays baseball, how the coach handles pitchers, and always plays the same style regardless of the score, the situation, whatever. LSU has a coach that is the equivalent of a broken record, and that record is tired and worn out. It is way past time to instill new blood into the top supported program in America....before it stops being so. Just bite the bullet and ask PM to retire....sooner rather than later.

We just need a coach who understands analytics. Part of analytics is not going to a freshman and a 5.14 era pitcher with no control at the highest leverage situation of the game when your first and second best reliever are standing their with their dick in their hand

Ding ding ding!!!! Here's the obvious and plain truth. We've seen this sad story played out over and over each year and some of you fricks just won't accept that his time has passed.
Literally nothing has changed in the last 4 or 5 years.
