I've been very hard on the team this year when it comes to showing emotion, leadership, and generally playing like they care.

Those traits have been missing FAR too often this season. For most of the season, they played like spoiled kids who could not care less.

Even Friday, I saw a lot of that. Even starting Saturday.

I don't know what got into this team starting around mid-game Saturday, but it seems like the light finally came on for them. Maybe they realized they could compete. Maybe they really do care about Coach and didn't want to go out in a bad way.

But this team showed grit, never say die, excitement, leadership, and character over the last four games.

Keep with it, boys. If you play like you did Saturday - Monday - you will be in great shape for this year and for the future.

if they play with the heart they showed the last couple games they can really do some big things.

It's tough for kids 18 years old to come in and be leaders and be consistent. Especially this year when absolutely nothing as been a sure bet. People have to be patient and know the cream always rises to the top.

I do agree they showed a lot of grit this weekend. Really nice to see! But I still feel like this team can be better.

I still expect Beloso to heat up at time; I feel like he’s too good not to. And I feel like Doughty, who has proven to be a good hitter, can heat up as well. Can y’all imagine this lineup with a heated up Beloso and Doughty? And throw in Thompson, he’s been kinda cold down the stretch, and I feel he is a better hitter than what he has shown the past month or two.

And then there is the infield play. Save Morgan, the rest of the spots have been kind of suspect. If they cleaned up a booted ball here, and a poor throw to first there (which I think they are capable of), watch out; they could make some noise.

I think the pitching down the stretch is good enough to get through a best of 3 series.
