These clowns on ESPN radio tonight
Posted by Geaux Dude on 10/18/19 at 11:56 pm526
So I caught a little bit of ESPN radio tonight and they were talking about Ohio State and how they are proving to be the best team in the country after they thrashed Northwestern.
I’m trying to be objective so I look at the Buckeye’s schedule and find that Northwestern is 1-5 and tOSU played no one ranked except #25 Michigan St at the time.
Sure, there is a lot of football left to be played, but if I didn’t hear some east coast bias, I’m not sure what is.

I got used to the idea a long time ago that certain schools, especially ones not in the South, will always get preferential treatment from the press.

Teams who have looked the best this season:
1A - LSU
1B - Ohio State
It's not a far fetched take.

They have played no one, but they have looked really good doing it.
In my opinion the 1-4 is pretty interchangeable. And frankly it REALLY doesnt matter where you land 1-4 as long as you are 1-4 at the end of the year. It makes zero difference.

I mean, they've looked really good. This was NU's worst home loss in 30 years.
I get they haven't played the toughest schedule thus far, but it's hard to criticize when they keep dominating.

Nebraska was also ranked when Ohio St destroyed them a few weeks back. Ohio St will have their first real test next week against #7 Wisconsin, but I've watched Ohio St a few times this year and they certainly look lile a top 2-3 team in tje country right now. They are easily the most well-rounded team with an elite offense and defense.
I personally think LSU and Ohio St are the two best teams in the country right now. Good chance we meet for the Natty.

Why do people care so much about rankings and what “experts” think at this point in the season? They are paid to give their opinion. Are they right? Who knows. Let the games play out. Does OSU, LSU, Alabama, and Clemson all belong at the top? At this point yes they all do. I think OSU is the best “complete” team. Have they played the competition LSU has? No. I think they would win against the same teams LSU has played. Their offense is damn good and their defense has played great too. Plenty of football remains. They have a big test next weekend to see how good they are.

quote:They also beat a Cincinnati team that's pretty decent. They beat them 42-0. It's Cincinnati's only loss so far, as they're 5-1 and now ranked 21st.

So, it's not like they've played a horrible schedule either.
