Let’s take a deep dive to analyze Cranford’s hitting.
0-1 on season with a SO.

He does have two less errors than Hal

I can't really argue against Cranford at this point. He certainly has more upside than Hal offensively. I would give the nod to Hal on defense, but he hasn't been very clean so far this year. Hal has the experience edge, so they need to break Cranford in now if they want him there for conference play.

I haven’t watched him in practice, like all of y’all have, so I just can’t say.

Correct. He’s already exhausted his juco eligibility.

You can't really argue FOR Cranford either though.

I think Cranford has the ability to play SS for LSU. My concern with him right now is that he’s only about 11 months removed from Tommy John surgery. Would he have the arm strength right now to make the necessary throws?

Agree on both accounts. Not enough to argue for Cranford, or against him. You can maybe argue for Hal, but definitely argue against him.

I kind of feel like SS may be a revolving door of Cranford, Hal, Mathis, and Doughty. I don't mean revolving door in a bad way, either. Just play them all there some and let their play dictate who plays there and when. It will give alot of reps to alot of guys, which is great for depth.

I, too, am concerned with Cranford's arm health/strength. On the other hand, 8-10 months is plenty of time to recover from TJ for a position player. Caution is fine with me when you have others to battle it out this early in the season.

I went to some scrimmages. Cranford has a long way to go at the plate. Hal has a long way. Wait we are LSU. Miss state Ss is 6’3” and a possible first round pick. Just saying. Old Paul strikes again.

You know what’s funny. State offered cranford and paul was like shite we got to offer this kid and he was all over it bc LSU was his no.1 school. Not saying Paul was wrong but it’s funny how his recruitment went

Right now, I would put the towel boy ahead of Hal
