There's so much to be excited about as an LSU fan but one thing stands out for me most

QB PLAY

THE EFFING END.

We can talk about WR talent, Young buck RB's, LB depth and speed, Secondary studs, offensive coaching changes, Aranda having more studs to toy with etc etc etc...

But the simple fact is still, its fricking god damn refreshing to have a cocky stud QB who's going to back shite up and oh yeah, we have this young buck stud who has quietly developed and would star on the field behind him.

Let's enjoy the season folks.

Burrow had a lower QB rating against Georgia Southern than Brandon Harris did against New Mexico St.

Let's wait until he's on a big stage.

I've said for years now that all it'll take is one stud QB to take a chance on this program and choose LSU, to be the final piece of the puzzle, and become a legend.

Dude's an Ohio guy, but he's on his way to becoming a deity in Louisiana (much like Brees, in a sense).

You love to see it.

Huh? Burrow's stats vs UGA were 15/30, 200 yds 0 TDs, 6.7 avg & a QBR of 65.7

You conveniently failed to mention that he ran for over 60 yds with 2 TD.

There's more to winning football games as a QB than QBR.

One of his runs was 59 yards

Did you even watch the game?

No turnovers, ran the offense very well.

After the game everyone was happy with his performance, except stat watchers like yourself

Yep I was there. And he did it on a "big stage".

Maybe so but did you notice how smooth the presnap was. The lack of penalties. The confidence in the players themselves. Its different for sure, how much is the only question--so glad to have JOE.

Oh don't get me wrong, I am extremely grateful to have Burrow. People just are so quick to forget it was only a 10 point game into the 4th quarter and how much we struggled in the red zone.

The final score doesn't reflect the full game (kinda like the argument this board makes defending the 8 point win over UCF)

Joe got better as the season progressed last year. He is tuff as nails. His less than stellar showing against the better teams were more due to the OL than Joe also WR's were young--bad combo to make a strong QB showing.

This year for sure WR play is going to be better, hopefully OL play is better. Joe has had more time and experience so he should be better. I am expecting a better offense, are we good enough to beat Bama, I don't think so yet but I am looking forward to JOE changing my mind over the next month.

IMO the stat line and qb rating don't tell anywhere near the full picture.

The best part of the GS game was watching Burrow read the defense and progress through his reads all while already knowing where the check down was and if he was open.

That's the biggest difference between Burrow and last few QBs we've had. It has been so unbelievably frustrating watching Brandon Harris and others line up knowing exactly which receiver they were going to throw it to before the snap and waiting for hopefully even a small opening before throwing it regardless. There was zero reading of the defense, there was zero going through progressions.

You can't win football games without an intelligent quarterback who can read a defense and get the ball into the open playmakers hands. Burrow is that QB.

So you'd consider Anthony Jennings & Brandon Harris "intelligent" quarterbacks? They each won 8 or more games
