Our defensive line got over confident and not worked practicing against them.

Who on our line starts for another SEC team? Coach O knows this is the teams weakness and has been hinting at it all along.

Remember when he stated we had all these DLmen that our line that were unblockable? That was not a testament to a great DL. Well everyone else is blocking those same guys pretty well.

Grimes never should have been retained.

downvote all you want.

yall dumbasses said the same thing last year when we led the country in yards before contact, had the most olinemen make an all sec team and had a rimington award finalist.

our oline talent isnt so bad that we get dominted by a team with 1 top 25 class since 2013

Losing Tehuema when we did was always going to hurt us. We have young guys trying to block older, more experienced players. We have really been deficient in the O line and I hope we can pull in talent this year like we did for LB last year.

A lot of freshman and inexperienced players got a lesson yesterday. I think Matt Canada did as well. I think we have good coordinators and we need to be patient and let them recruit some more guys.

We are young.

maybe our recruiting coordinator turned head coach should've offered more olinemen rather almost costing us our 2 committed qbs by offering a qb that was never coming here.

Time to bring in Rob Sale. He would be a perfect fit for LSU. He played for LSU, has been a oline coach for several years at McNeese St, ULM, Georgia and now Arizona. More importantly he is from Monroe and could lock down the northern part of the state....

That's why our OL performed so great last night. They looked the same as previous OL's at LSU. They stunk up the whole field. Miss State's DL pushed 'em around like grade schoolers.

talent alone doesnt win games.

im sorry you dont understand this.

our run blocking was the only reason we had any offensive yards last night.

Etling had time to make some throws but was very inaccurate last night.

there are dozens of olines with less talent that do just fine.

You are clueless. The Oline does not have a true tackle. Malone is not even close to being a true left tackle. We also don't have a true center. Our line should play better, but there are many problems with the oline.

I understand it alright. Just because they look more talented on paper doesn't mean crap if they can't bring it to the playing field. There are many highly talented players who can't play at this level. Whether it's mental(or lack of it), coaching, or both, doesn't matter if the problem isn't corrected. I do agree that Grimes has to go. But I also believe this offensive line needs to be rebuilt with a new coach. As far as rushing yards, that wasn't something to rave about either.

that's your opinion which I think is bull shite. that Simmons is the real deal. State is going to surprise some folks this year. they aren't world beaters as we handed the game to them but they are a damn good team on both sides of the ball.

We haven't had a good OL in almost 10 years it seems... but many of those guys have played in the NFL... maybe just MAYBE it's not the OL talent but the scheme... maybe it's always been the scheme.

Tcu moved to their pass happy offense because their OL got dominated and they were decimated by attrition.

You have to play smarter when you don't have the horses. Can't overpower every single team out there.

I think its the scheme, because i don't think Grimes has that much say in the matter when it comes down to it, but i could be wrong.

Either way, I agree with you on the talent aspect. Seems like every year when the offense fails people claim we have no OL talent. It's eyerolling.

with 8 minutes to go in the 4th quarter we had 6.4 yards per carry with zero passing attack.
