The Tigers are the champions of the Southeastern Confrerence

Tremendous effort by the Tiger Gymnasts. Despite questionable scoring for LSU and generous scoring for Florida and Alabama the depth and consistency of LSU carried them through. The freshmen came through on the big stage with flying colors.

Great team victory. Even though the biggest stars did not get quite the scores they had been getting the freshman performances were superb, finishing in the top ten in most events. The near future and the long term future for this program shines brightly.

Sorry assessment. Florida had to take a 9.125 on the floor or it would have been a different outcome. If scoring is "questionable", your Deanette of coaching should have objected.

Also you do realize you can incur team deductions from coaches behaviors? Probably not

LSU lost their leader and the heart and soul of their team to a torn Achilles and rallied behind their older gymnasts who took their young freshman ( one is 17 years old) and just took care of business. Florida lost one of their stars to an Achilles and has totally fallen apart since then. Hope both dynamic gymnasts recover well from their injuries.
I can tell you the spirit of one of them still resonates strongly through her team which toted some hardware home last night.

Dede has been at Lsu for 40 years and has not won a natty not going to happen this year either they will choke in the super six just as they always do

She has not had the resources other programs provided until the last few years. Now look what a difference it has made. The have not choked in the Super Six. The winner performed a little better, but the other five teams have nothing to be ashamed of. Fans like you fail to see the big picture and just look for any angle to be snarky or critical. D D has won two SEC regular season titles and two tourney tiles in a row. Thats not easy to do in any sport. Instead of lauding that achievment lets find some way to demean her and the program.

I think its funny as shite when people are trying to talk about how DD chokes then continues on to makes excuses for another SEC team who choked to try to explain an LSU victory this Saturday. LSU was better than the entire SEC all season and still is, its like these people want us to fail

I would hardly call finishing 2nd nationally "choking". These meets are decided by fractions of a point. LSU finished second to perennial powerhouse Oklahoma in 2016 and 2017. It's not like they lost to Troy St.

From 1982 through 2012 the NCAA title was won by only four different schools : UCLA, Utah, Georgia and Alabama.
Since then Florida and Oklahoma have each won two titles outright and shared a third. The impossible only exists until someone does it.
Whats to keep LSU from cracking that select circle of champions? When the Super Six begins all teams start at zero. I don't disagree Oklahoma may have been over scored and LSU under scored the last couple of years, especially on floor, but that could change at any time. Even better, LSU hits Saturday night like they did Friday night last year.
Let it all play out. If it does not happen this season there is a real chance it will within the next few seasons. Those young freshmen learned they belonged in the upper echelon this weekend and that was huge as they approach the regionals and Super Six.
