why are the wapos and the nyts and the usa todays of the world sending their nosy reporters down to BR, and not to tuscaloosa, or clemson, or columbus?

There's something else going on here. Don't know what, but I sense it.

Why is lsu the only major program reporters and journalists care about?

You don't think something juicy and damning happened at bama between 2008-2020? A reporter would have gotten famous for exposing dirt on the most dominant program of the 21st century.

Yet They didn't go to bama to check things out.

LSU wins a title and they descend like vultures.

This has nothing to do with them and has obviously been in motion for years. Grow up.

Guice incident essentially opened the flood gates. Without his behavior and incident I doubt anymore comes to light.

Maybe they run better programs than we do.

As has been said on other threads, this is an "inside job" Someone at LSU has an ax to grind. Given privacy laws for students and due process much of the info came from someone within LSU. Bama and Clemson will have their turn, everyone will. Baylor, UNC,UGA have been there to name a few

this has nothing to do with Alabama, Clemson, or any other school.

While true, you could find some amount of this at any public university if you dig. They just happen to be digging here right now because of Derrius Guice getting in trouble this year. That doesn’t excuse any of it, but it also isn’t any less true.

There are multiple victims publicly detailing the process. There is no 'conspiracy' or 'inside job' the article literally tells you who is giving them the information.

Y'all are incapable of even basic deductive reasoning. My god. Think about this for even 2 seconds.

Guice incident essentially opened the flood gates. Without his behavior and incident I doubt anymore comes to light.

Bingo, Guice being dismissed by Washington for sexual assault of 2 women in DC brought the National Media (NFL is a big city Media click mover and ad seller) into looking into Guice not only during his time with Washington but then they dig into his history at LSU. You add that LSU had the season it had last year, you throw in OBJ handing out $100 bills after the NC game in New Orleans, brings more national NFL media into looking into LSU, and now as you say the flood gates are open.

It is not a matter of 'digging'. The reason this article came out is because the victims were willing to go on the record. There have probably been similar incidents at other big schools, but until people are willing to come forward no reporter can run that story.

Ah yes, go to conspiracy/paranoia while avoiding the obvious answer.

B/c those programs are highly skilled at covering up any negative tracks before becoming exposed. LSU is not.

Seems the victims did file a Title IX sexual assault complaint and these date back to 2016 in the case of Guice and 2018 in the case of Davis, and if you believe the USA today story, Verge had texts from Davis corroborating the woman's complaints.

Local BR Media I don't think dug into this, but with Guice in DC and his 2 sexual assaults (one a violent one where he was accused of strangling a woman to the point she was unconscious) and that large NFL media market, probably 3rd largest media market in country behind NYC and LA, started looking back into Guice's history at LSU and then they find these other 8 players accused of similar behavior. Hmmm, not a good look for LSU period.

I’m not necessarily talking about literal digging for dirt. Those people willing to come forward didn’t have the same kind of audience until journalists had a reason to look here. Guice getting busted this year gave reporters a reason to look into his past and they found people here ready to talk about him and others. Do you really think any of this would have happened if Guice didn’t get in trouble again? I don’t think it would have.

In the end, if there are this many people around the school not handling these allegations the way that they should be, then it’s better that it comes out now rather than potentially getting worse. The new school president and Woodward need to clean this shite up. Hopefully it isn’t any worse than what was in the article. That was bad enough.

I still believe you could find a lot of stories like this at most public universities. It just sounds like LSU is worse than average school-wide because of poor enforcement of Title IX policies from the top down.
