Agree. Ejection for football plays suck.

I don't necessarily like the ejections for all of the targeting calls. They did significantly back off on what they called targeting this season though. That's a step in the right direction. To remove ejections on some targeting calls would be going backwards on a player safety rule. I'm sure that's not optics the NCAA wants to have. Also, it leaves a lot of gray area, for certain teams/players to have players ejected and others not.

15 yards is an adequate deterrent.
It’s worked for facemask; players try to avoid it.
But the call on Fulton was 100x worse.

Was the correct call.

Hate the ejection part of the penalty.
Make it 15 or even 25 and then if you get a second - toss em.
Intent is supposed to factor in and NEVER does.
Horrible call in many cases.

That's irrelevant anyway, when you lead with the crown of your helmet.

penalize him sure but don’t toss a player for that.

’m talking about EJECTION. It was a legit penalty

8 year olds are taught NOT to lower your head like that. This dude did it EVERY tackle. The ejection may have saved his life.

There is a proper way to tackle. See what you hit. It will prevent you from breaking your neck. I think this rule is great. If you don't see what you hit, you will hurt yourself and possibly who you hit.
I love football and don't want to see it die because of people not tackling correctly.

That’s exactly what I’m saying is a scourge on the game

There’s got to be at least 1 face mask penalty a game. That is not an adequate deterrent for the reasonable probability of paralyzing yourself.

So Skalski gets to play by his own set of rules.?
His hit was true targeting it’s not like it was a Devin White type call.

That was textbook targeting. This kid will end up in a wheelchair if he doesn't learn to tackle properly. Hopefully, this will open up his eyes.
re: The targeting ejection on SkalskiPosted by RPC4LSU on 1/14/20 at 10:13 pm to ForeverEllisHugh
I despise the targeting ejection penalty except for one instance and that is spearing. When you hit someone with the top of your helmet, the chance of serious injury is high, especially to the guy doing the spearing. That is the only time, I am in favor of ejection.

They tossed Devin White for less.

I know. It blows and officials, including replay, are flawed. Which is why no ejectios.

They changed the rule in large part due to the Devin White play. That is no longer targeting.
