Hornsby was cool as frick. He took my son on the court after a few games and shot around with him a couple of minutes. He tried to get Simmons to come take a picture a couple of times but he was always busy with interviews. He did get pictures with the rest of the team and Bob Petit that year though. One game we were in the second row behind the bench when he was hurt and he talked basketball with my son for a good portion of the game, he was spoiled rotten, my son not Hornsby.

I remember after he drained this shot and won the game another LSU player was visibly upset he didn’t get the ball even though we won. He was a real good player for us that year but can’t remember his name - started with a J like Jamel or something?

Yep, you are right. I stand corrected. But if I remember correctly, Quarterman showed some frustration in some other game (Kentucky?) where he didn't get to be the center of attention.
