The most incredible thing about 2019 was that....

We had what pundits was say was "the worst head football coach in Ole Miss history"....Then "he lost to Troy in Tiger Stadium...." He was so bad that they did a song on him.
We had a OC who was reluctant to take the job and was more than content at being a tight end coach.
To support him, we brought in a PGC who was not even a position coach with the New Orleans Saints.
We started a QB who was second string with at Ohio State.
We had a 3 star RB who was supposed to be beaten out by more talented freshman.
Our most productive receiver was a 2 star recruit.
.. and yet they all came together in the greatest season in the history of college football ...
The head coach was consensus coach of the year.
The unknown PGC won a Broyles award.
The QB won the Heisman by a record number of votes and was the first pick in the NFL draft.
The RB not only did not get beat out by "more talented freshmen" but went on to become a first round pick in the NFL draft.
So did the WR..2 star to first round pick in 3 years.
Joe Burrow, came as second stringer from Ohio State...he left a Heisman winner and number 1 pick in the draft.
Joe Brady, came as a Saints assistant ( glorified graduate assistant ). He left a NFL OC.
CEH was told he was not good to play at LSU...he did play here....he started here..... and then the defending Super Bowl champions thought that he was good enough for a first round pick...
Steve Ensminger coached through personal tragedy to what
must be his finest hour as a LSU Tiger (player & coach)
Ed Orgeron put it all together.....This has got to be one of the best coaching job by any coach in the history of the sport.

Yes but now Yaw-Yaw has a national championship.
And he still rips his shirt off.

My favorite part of your post was you spelling it out for us at the end

And if you think back to the Les Miles years, you can see that O's game management is night and day. Clock management is great. Sloppy penalties have been cleaned up.
You also have to give O credit for how he dealt with injuries and suspensions this year as well. Great job all-around.

Big piece of the puzzle not mentioned. Coaching staff convincing the draft eligible underclassmen to forego the draft for the chance at a once in a lifetime opportunity and all its glory. Thank you once again for coming back to make history.
