7 years ago we started year against Oregon in same position team wise as to what we have this year against Miami.
New QB/good but not great RB's/young WR's..with a killer young and hungry defense. I hope will get same results. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

Not that this years team doesn’t have talent but that 2011 team was absolutely loaded with talent and experience

I can't see much difference between Miles and O..
was at the Oregon game and laughed my arse off when Miles ran to Oregon sideline when the team came out of the tunnel. He figured it out half way across field.

Jarrett Lee was nowhere near “new” and our running backs were studs.

Lee was not projected starter and our backs were not studs like Fournette or Guice

Not saying the running backs on that team weren’t studs but they definitely weren’t nationally known backs. What we did have, however, was a defense that was one of the best in the nation. The nation just didn’t know that yet. This year, the nation already knows about the potential of this defense and, as always, the offense will be a question mark. I really like our chances to make a big run this year. Everybody from national pundits to local everyday Joe’s have already written the Tigers off this year and I love that feeling that we aren’t supposed to be good. What I do know is college football is truly unpredictable and anything can happen on any given Saturday. Here’s to hoping the Tigers can be the surprise of the season (even if most of you retards think we have no chance)!

same position team wise

We entered 2011 ranked #4 with a senior QB, coming off an 11-win season.

I hope we get the same results, but I don't see this year's team as being in the "same position".

No. We knew the 2011 team was good. QB was the only question. Plus, we were coming off of a very strong 2010 finish with a lot of reason to be optimistic.

This year, not so much.

Then you are just plain stupid.

I was ready for Miles to be fired, but let’s be fair. O can’t carry Les’s jock as a head coach. Their records before and at LSU speak for themselves.

Right. If someone believes Orgeron will achieve as much as Les, fine. But to say they can't see any difference between them now is willful ignorance.

Spencer Ware was a fricking beast.

One of the most underrated RBs I can remember at LSU.

Agreed Ware didn’t get worn down in college carrying the ball 36 times a game. He hit his prime in the NFL and has had a lot of success. He weight less and had much better speed but you could always tell he had “it”.

You mean year 4 of JJ/JL?

good but not great RB's

You mean former 5*/ Current NFL Player Spencer Ware who has just broken out with a huge performance in the Cotton bowl? and Louisiana HD Career Rushing yards leader Kenny Hilliard?

young WR's.

Rueben Randle was a Junior.

Also we were preseason #4 the ...

We’re more like 2012. Transfer QB taking over. Lots of talent on defense, and an internal hire st OC who got the job because he did ok when he stepped in for the OC before.

at anyone downvoting this.
Especially when you’re comparing to what we’re going into this season with.

2010 : Ridley, Jefferson and Shepard had 300 + of the teams carries. When anyone else got the ball
Ford 5.4 ypc
Ware 7.3 ypc
Blue 5.1 ypc
And Hilliard was a stud recruit coming in.

2011 : Those RBs accounted for 2500+ yards. And you could add touches by Gore and Magee

What the frick? LSU started the year at #4 in 2011. It was universally accepted that LSU was going to be good as frick.

You certainly can't say that for this season.
