No idea what I’m spouting? You ever served in a special ops unit? 19 years in the game - and I’m actually typing you from Iraq right now in the middle of my eight deployment.

Red wings was a fricked up op - period. In fact, we study where they went wrong in order to never repeat it again. The moment the were compromised they should have fricking call it off. Hold on to the goat herders and release once the were boarding the helo picking them up. Their op was never intended on being kinetic - it as a recon gig.

The point of my post is the we sit here watching how you guys crawl all over this dude nuts looking for “motivation” from him when we only know who he is because they didn’t do what they should have on a mission and he survived a fricked up situation he should have never been in. And no he wasn’t a leader - he was a junior E5 who was the lowest cat on the op.

Im currently serving with a guy here who really survived events that turned sour with elements out of his control. Ops that were meant to be kinetic ops. He’s going to go on and command a seal team next and be fricking great at it. But you will never hear about him or his exploits. Because fame and glory isn’t why you sign up for SOF. And it’s a shame folks get out exploiting that.

What in the hell are you talking about? How was he not a leader in the service? Probably more of a man than you will ever be.

Dude never even served as a platoon lpo

My skipper and I talked about this last year. And he has over 28 years as a SEAL. He saw luttrell on Fox News on AFN one day and said “wow, dude give national security advice to country. Would you go and as one of your E5s his advice on national security? Me neither but that’s the level of advice the country getting”

How many missions have you been on? I mean, real world. I've done my fair share and about half went perfect. The rest didn't. Why? Bad intel. Arrogance. Whatever. In the end, improvisation won the day. Lutrell survived some surreal shite. Salute and congratulate. From you, I smell judgement with little real world knowledge. Check my knuckles. I'M game

Bad intel is what it is. Arrogance has no place on a op.

Again he survived a situation that should have been called off.

And how would I check your knuckles?

Well, if you have the experience, then I will respect your opinion.
We are similar.

Most posters here have played Call Of Duty on xbox and feel obliged/qualified to pass judgement on shite they know nothing about.

You and I disagree a little regarding Lutrell.
However, having real world experience, I will respect your opinion and won't bash it again.

In fact, you have more years than my 14.

Thank you for your service and stay safe.

Thanks for your service War Tiger! You sound like a true Patriot. I wish I could buy you a beer one day.

I don’t know how anyone can question Luttrell or his actions during that mission. Dude is a true badass

As an E-5 did he make the call to continue the mission or he just survive after someone else made the call? Before anyone questions I served 4 uneventful years.

You are in a small enough team to have a voice in that discussion.

If only they would have been as perfect as you maybe some of them would still be alive. It must be awesome to sit above them and claim how bad they messed up. It sounds like you are a real a-hole.

Well they did frick up. More precisely their commanders who planned and sent them on that operation fricked up. It was amateur hour from the beginning to end and a big dick measuring contest between the SEALs and the USMC and those guys are dead because of it. It does a disservice to them and to the trade to not look back on the incident honestly and harshly to learn from their mistakes.
