The length of games, especially ones aired by CBS, is out of control

The TV timeouts, lengthy commercial breaks and the need to fill as much time with ads as possible are incredibly daunting and drain the mood for watching the game on TV and in person. Can’t anything be done about this? I really dislike a lot of what ESPN does, but I thought the way the Florida game flowed and seemed “efficient” (for lack of a better word) was really great. How did it come to this over 4 hour nonsense?

CBS kills the rhythm of the game. It Was 3:05 and the game was only 4 minutes in. A half hour to play 4 minutes of football is asinine.

They must’ve had a deep discussion about where to eat dinner during that 40 minute video review

I spent a lot of time being aggravated by this yesterday. It's absolutely exhausting to watch a game on CBS.

4 hours of listening to Gary slobber on Saban’s knob. It’s unbearable.

CBS is the main reason I passed my season tickets on the my nephews. The Arkansas game in 2007 was 4 hours when it went to OT, I was in the stadium for over 5 hours that day, ridiculous.

I usually only go to one game a year now, and that's only if I have an invite to a luxury box.

The constant delays in the game also give formidable defenses like Auburn much-needed breaks to recover.

It’s one thing when the stoppages in play simply lengthen the game. It’s another when it actually affects games on the field.

Even aside from CBS, the constant referee councils are really disrupting and killing the flow of games. Refs need to understand that no one goes to the game and watches the game because of THEM. They are not equal partners with the teams as stars of the show.

Also, the SEC needs to ensure when they negotiate a contract that whomever has the pick of the best game of the week also has a night time slot to put it in. These marquee early afternoon matchups need to stop.

The game didn't end until almost 7pm. That's almost 4 1/2 hours...all regulation time. That's just ridiculous.

Trying to get their money’s worth before the contract with the SEC runs out in 2024.

So 4 hours once a week over 12 plus weeks is too much for you? Ever tried to watch a goddamn MLB game and they are every damn day for 7 months?

CBS openly celebrates injuries to collegiate athletes during games because they can milk that for $. In one instance with an AU player shaken up on a play yesterday, I could have sworn the 2-min TV timeout sign guy beat the trainer to the field.

Careful what you wish for, putting the marquee game in the night slot will get you more day games to fill the 230 slot if your team isnt in that marquee game.

People aren't realizing this, at this time there is no getting away from day games especially if your team is nationally talked about.

It kills the home field advantage and buzz in the stadium too.

Yesterday anytime the crowd would really get going and the team had some momentum, something would happen to cause a game stoppage and the crowd would go quiet.

Auburn would got to conference near the sideline with the offense, negating the crowd noise while trying to get plays in and audible

Frigging 28 penalties in the game, 13 for 123 yards on LSU. Some were bad calls, yet they missed others. Whatever happened to giving a guy a warning on a weak personal foul after being baited by the opponent to keep the game rolling? 28 penalties is ridiculous. And the fake AU defender sit down injury the 2nd half.

Yea that also helped to lengthen the game but why does the network have to go to commercial every damn time there is some stop in play
