He did very well. Of course two all pro receivers helped. Not saying this guy will be Mett, just looking for positives here...

it's always a good sign when lsu's starter was developed elsewhere. It has me fired up about him.

He was a transfer, so he's actually the last QB that wasn't developed here.

I’ve always been amazed that Mett “wasn’t developed here” even though he spent three seasons here compared to about 12 months with a redshirt at Georgia and 6 months at juco.

You're implying 2011 Mett was just as good as 2012 and 2013 Mett, which is a fail.
Mett did develop at LSU and spoke himself of getting "better" in numerous interviews.

Mettenberger spent 1 year at UGA, half a year in JUCO and 3.5 years at LSU.

Why do people think he wasn't developed at all at LSU? He basically sat out year 1 here, played OK his first year starting then by year 3 was a beast. Seems like we did some developing somewhere?

Mett sat out a whole year here before he played learning the ropes

If I told you that over the course of the next two years, Burrow will have less than 150 yards passing in 30% of his starts, would you consider that good?

Looking back now the receivers were a big part of his success

Whodathunkit?

By the same token, I guess Juice and OBJ would've had 1,000yd seasons with Jennings or Harris? Cmon man.

Just to think we had both those guys on each end of the field. Jesus christ. The one year the defense is completely pedestrian
