The fans were fed up with Cam's stale offense and predictable play calling. He said that he would open up the offense and pass more. I really think he attempted to do that but was limited by the quarterback play. Maybe this go round he can have some more success with one of those stud qb's tossing the rock around?

With what offensive line? What stud RBs? Program is in shambles

Idk man the only ray of hope I gathered from that PC was that apparently Steve wants to chuck it around. Which is fine by me. Now whether that actually happens will be the real question.

Whether it's Narcisse or Brennan - give them the freedom to let it fly. And for God's sake don't bench the kid after he throws one pick.

I'm hoping they can coach up the wide receivers in the art of route-running. The receivers have been underperforming, imho. The one thing that does kind of excite me about SE is that in his play-calling, he believes in balance. Hopefully, the run-pass ratio will not be weighted to the run so much.

I questioned some of his short yardage play calling. One in particular was a 4th and short 1. He attempted a low percentage 15 yard pass with DE that DE wasn't able to give the receiver a chance to catch. I hope that SE uses the same philosophy as Canada and spreads the field out to get the playmakers some space mixed with a little I formation ground and pound that he used with LF7 and DG5. I kind of liked the occasional Canada jet sweep and would like to see Steve use it occasionally.

Here's to hoping Cam Cameron is coming in to install his system for Steve to use. Again.

Steve inherited an offense that was set up to succeed under Miles. It was Cameron's pro-style and well disciplined. All he had to do was take off the blinders. Now, he has to devise, recreate, and implement an Orgeron idea of west-coast pro style without having the luxury of that kinda recruiting.

Yeah, Ed O did say he had a championship qb. You know, the one he refused to play last year.

On raw talent, I would agree. Physically, they have a world of ability. I'm just not sure that they are as good at running routes as they could be.

Shambles? I think the offensive line with all of the young talent now and coming in will be a bright spot. I agree with the running back, but we have been spoiled greatly with the last 2.

I hope they keep using the jet sweep, as well, even if it's not so often. I also hope they work on the screen pass and use that more often than they have been. I know screens can be tricky to run sometimes because they require good timing and execution, but I think screens are essential to slow down great pass rushes, such as what Alabama has. One thing I heard during O's press conference was that Ensminger had a very good redzone conversion rate while he was calling plays in 2016. That sounds encouraging. Our redzone offense in 2017 kind of stunk, especially in the bowl game.

One thing I heard E say that I liked. He talked about being able to basically run any play from any personnel grouping and formation. While we never heard what type of offense we will run next year, that part of the philosophy I can get behind.

Look, I saw Ensminger play when he was a QB under Cholly Mac. He had great ability, still remember the game when he hooked up with Carlos Carson for several great TD's. He loves LSU and is honored to coach here. He's coached some great offenses along the way and he has not forgotten what to do. He did, IMHO, a better job with less when he was interim than Canada did. So I m willing to give him a chance to see what he can do.

That would be a big plus. From what I've heard, during the CLM era, opposing teams got to where they knew what we were going to run a lot of the time due to our personnel packages.

This used to aggravate the crap out of me. Heck I could pick out the plays based on who lined up in formation. I sure as heck Saban knew it too. SE has got to figure out a way to beat Saban coached defenses or it's going to be a short ride for both he and CEO.
