The infatuation on this board for Will Wade is almost unfathomable.

Yes, he could recruit with those damn strong offers but his teams played pure Street ball. Coach MM has had to come in and basically work the phones just to field a team. He's going to do well in time. Give him an opportunity to set the culture here and we'll be fine. Rant over. Have a great night of sleep baws.

“pure Street ball”
The calling card of an ignorant basketball poster

OP has one of the strangest posting histories I’ve ever seen. Registered for 10 years, has 49 posts. Prior to a few days ago, hadn’t posted in 9 years. Chimes in on LSU Basketball tonight. Maybe he fell into a coma after Johnnys first season?

See him immediately deflect because he can’t defend his comment with facts? He should go back into hibernation.

Wade was an awesome coach. Players loved him, they fought for him. We had success we haven’t had in forever. We had not one, but two ADs absolutely frick him.
Yea, he was eccentric, he did things his way, he rubbed higher ups wrong. But how could a single fan not like him? He LOVED Louisiana, he LOVED the fans, he LOVED the university. On top of that, it was basically a witch hunt for him because college basketball didn’t like what LSU was becoming. It’s fine when Duke, Kentucky, Kansas do it but not LSU.
frick posters who don’t understand why we love Wade. McMahon is a very good coach but he won’t have the success Wade did and it sucks for everyone involved

Athletic department burner account
So you not even gonna give McMahon a chance huh? Just go ahead and write him off in year one with no talent to work with. That’s real bright

McMahon will either sink or swim. At this point, Wade's resume far outshines McMahons accomplishments. That's the facts.
Wade is a proven commodity that loved LSU who would thrive in the NIL Era IMO.
McMahon is a good mid major coach who has yet to prove anything at a power 5 school. If one looks at the base rate chances of coaches such as McMahon going to power 5 schools having the same success as Wade, it is not great. There are more failures than successes. Competition is fierce.
I am routing for McMahon because I want LSU to win. But, I am realistic about his chances to succeed. Time will tell.

Sorry. In a world where everyone bashed coaches, we had one we absolutely loved and he got fired for doing:
-What everyone does
-What is now legal

I don’t know much about coaching basketball but as an observer tpear showed much more emotion and I never saw him field a team as poorly as this one. I’m willing to wait, what choice do I have, but this team will be hard pressed to find a win in the sec. Not fun to watch. Maybe Kim Mulkey could go over and help him. People in louisiana want to see a little more than what McMahon is showing. You know, get pissed off and pull somebody out, get excited about something.

You mean the man who poured his heart, soul, time and even money (allegedly) into this program...
Brought LSU basketball back to life.
Did promos as "the General" to "Boot Up" and get people interested in the program again.
And most importantly WON.
Yea what a total POS that guy was.

This is so incorrect. Our offense changed season to season. Yes in 2021 we had a very iso driven team, but that suited the team we had with Smart, Days, and Cam Thomas, and Watford.
Last year there was movement but because Miller was hurt we didn't have that go to shooter/scorer. Eason was our best offensive threat but he was a iso offensive player with his driving ability and his 6'8 height.
But continuing to shite on Wade calling it "street ball" is ignorant. His offense changed from year to year depending on who he had at the point and the makeup of his team.

My infatuation is with winning.
If you don't want to talk about Wade, why did you start an entirely new post to continue the conversation? Self reflection is a good thing.

Athletic department is pulling out all the mothballed alters. You know they are worried when they have Tiger Ree sunshine pumping basketball.
