Haughton99, I don’t hate you as a poster, but I do find this schtick of yours annoying. There is nothing wrong with questioning some of the content taught in many college courses, especially in the social sciences and the humanities. The idea that you should just accept 100% what a professor teaches is a terrible way to grow your intellect and your mind. It doesn’t make you an uneducated tube by saying that. The issue is many college courses completely ignore alternative points of view and alternative pieces of evidence.
But the more insidious thing you regularly spew on here is the prejudiced belief that those without college degrees have less worthy political opinions than those that do. Not only is this bigoted (you can’t control your intellectual capacity just like you can’t control your skin color), it also goes against democratic values and the American ideal of citizen participation in political processes.
You don’t need a college degree to understand key economic, societal, cultural, and foreign policy issues.
What does a chemist with a PhD know about a criminal law reform bill that a small business owner does not?
What does a professor of Roman history know about a tax bill that a worker down at the local plant doesn’t?
