The buyout would be spread over 96 payments (8 years).

FYI. Hopefully people will realize LSU is not cutting a check for 15MM. Stop starting threads.

1- how do you know?

2- 96 payments over how long? the 96 means little if the time is short.

15M is 15M no matter how you spread it out

You aren't spending $40k on car, you're spending $600/month blah blah

It's still $15m

Can we pay him one lump-sum payment in grass? We can give him all the grass in Tiger Stadium after the season ends and additional grass from all the parking lots on Nicholson too. He can just tell us where to pour it.

It's still a very meaningful point. $15mm in one slug is a lot different than 96 installments of $156,250. It also may make it a point of negotiation in pushing him out.

Or half of it apparently.

Read in an article this morning that half is due up front and the rest over 8 years.

Easier pill to swallow than if they had to come up with it all at once

So Les can pay off my house every two months? Yeah that is not much.

That's why I think they'll negotiate cutting a check if they decide to can him. 6-8 million now or $15 mil over the next decade. Gives LSU a small bit of leverage.

That's not accurate, but the last thing I want to do is explain the time value of money to the tiger rant.
