The beginning of a new era.

Let me first start by saying I don't put much into fate but there is something to be said about "coincidences" and sports that make you wonder sometimes if the two don't intertwine. Most here myself included believe 1/9 to be the last time LSU was seen as an elite powerhouse. Don't get me wrong we are still top tier just not elite since that day. Everyone knows what happened in the national championship game being embarrassed and not crossing the 50 yard line etc.
So ...was thinking after watching the game last night. We wouldn't be playing here if it wasn't for a hurricane that moved us here from Houston. A hurricane named Harvey. Harvey the ex-name of our new beloved Mike the tiger. This presented us a situation to go put to rest the ghosts of that game and start new memories one in which we don't allow our opponent to cross the 50 yard line.
Now I'm not saying that this team will go on to win a national championship but with all the young talent and the direction this program is headed...our beloved Harvey now Mike may be the start of a new era for LSU, one where we take back our elite status.

Sorry. I forget that we did cross once. I have never gone back to rewatch that game as it was very painful for me to see it live once. What should have been the best team in LSU history to end that way...but my point being something that we are constantly reminded of by other fan bases that (now I realize isn't true) but to actually do it to a team in that stadium you have to admit is a bit...."coincidental"

I get what you're saying, but it'd be a lot cooler if so many hadn't died and lost their homes due to Harvey. The 50 yard line thing is neat, but I'm not ready to lump the hurricane in with the neat coincidences.
