The Attendance on Saturday Night
inb4tl;dr

Okay, so the emptying of the stadium on Saturday is embarrassing and I know it's been discussed so much already in seasons past so on me ... but this needs to be brought up again.

Death Valley was nearly EMPTY towards the end of the game in a close game against a Power 5 Conference team. what the frick!? Death Valley used to be the loudest stadium in the country no matter who the frick we were playing. Now we are a fanbase full of spoiled and entitled children and elders who got the taste of multiple winning seasons and now feel as though every game except the Bama game is beneath them to attend or pay attention to.

I refuse to be part of the generation that let's the most feared playing venue in college football lose its mojo.

SVP should be lucky that he went to a Bama game instead of just another OOC Power 5 game because he would've had different things to say about Tiger Stadium. We're riding the coat-tails of a reputation that is no longer earned.

Show the frick up (no matter how good or bad the fricking team is). Be LOUD. Be Present. Have fun. Get home safe.

Still in...

Look at it this way.....

if you stay until the end, good chance there is zero traffic when leaving

at the very least, yes...that is a plus.

leaving early gives you no benefit except to miss exciting shite. I remember in 2014 when Miss.St. was kicking our arse for 3 and 1/2 quarters and then we staged almost and epic comeback that fell short at the goal line and there was maybe 15k-20k left in DV to witness it.

same in 2008 when Troy almost beat our sorry asses and nobody stayed to witness one of the biggest comebacks in LSU Football history...

FFS leaving early doesn't really help anything, the fan or the program. stay in the seat you paid for and have some fun, while we all still can.

There are a hundred threads about this every year. Seems like they all come from people who were sitting on their couch watching the game and bitching about the attendance instead of actually going watch.

80% of the people left when ESPN stayed with the game the entire 10 minutes Battle was down on the field, then the second he stood up, they went to 5 minute commercial break.

I've missed maybe 3 home games since 2000. I'm at every home game unless life has something else for me that day that is more important, because sometimes (not always) a higher priority than football comes up.

I've been in my seat in 213 for 24 of my 26 years on this earth. this is coming from someone who hates seeing Tiger Stadium empty more and more, earlier and earlier every fricking year...

This isn't even a very new occurrence either. Find some YouTube videos of the 2010 West Virginia Game or the 2012 Mississippi State game. Both were one score games in the 2nd half and people just began streaming out the stadium. There is a high % of fans that are simply going to leave at a predetermined time of night or game time, regardless of the game situation unless it is against a team they have deemed "worthy" of their attention.

I love your passion, but they are many reasons for this. I don't feel like typing a book to explain the reasons, but it will never be like it was.
