They probably had planned for several weeks to have all of this content ready to go on the opening day of the college baseball season. They aren't going to change their schedule because LSU's first game got pushed back a day. That would be asinine.
In general, yes the Advocate sucks, but this isn't a reason why. They didn't screw anything up by publishing their opening day content on opening day.

And it doesn’t say anything about LSU’s opening day. Today is the first day that college baseball teams can play baseball games against other baseball teams or as us true insiders to the jargon of the sport call it opening day.
