December 30, 2005 - Peach Bowl - #9 Miami vs #10 LSU
I consider it LSU's greatest bowl victory bar none.

I consider Oklahoma our greatest bowl victory bar none since the victory gave us a national championship, then Ohio state.

Peach Bowl win greater than a championship?
Interesting opinion on great wins, to say the least.

I was there and actually still have Bennie Brazell's game gloves from that Peach Bowl domination. LSU destroyed Miami in that game removing them from being a national power, much akin to what LSU did to Tennessee in 2001.

Miami removed themselves from being a national power by promoting Coker

I was at the game and the Hurricanes got beat badly on the field and in the tunnel after the game.
I had an amazing time. But it was not LSUs greatest bowl game victory.

We had possibly our four most dominant bowl wins in school history from 05-08. 40-3; 41-14; 38-24 (natty); and 38-3. That is bar none.

And people bitched about Miles all the way through.

Not really, it was keeping him longer. The players all wanted him because they thought Alvarez would come in and frick up the feel of that team. They ended up winning the title.

Even worse. A Peach Bowl over 2 NCs. After these two, I will take the 41-14 arse kicking of Notre Dame in the 2007 Sugar Bowl.
